It a hard call if there is a E3
Nintendo has to prove the system is not a fad
MS needs to make sure they keep the lead of PS3. Well people are starting to lose faith. It would also be nice to say there is an end to RROD problem.
Sony needs to prove they are coming back and the third party companies need to still invest in the PS3 and PSP.
MS or Nintendo.....we already know that Sony has great games.
MS has more games than Nintendo, but 360 isn't selling near as much as the Wii. In terms of games, Nintendo has more to prove. In terms of helping sales, MS has more to prove, becuase Wii is gonna sell anyways
Sony.
Right now they are riding on a wave of recent success, such as the PS3 outselling the Xbox 360 globally in 2007, while lacking in quality titles, or developers finally beginning to give a bit of praise for the PS3, as well as exclusives and BluRay; coupled with the fumbling and mistakes of the other guys, as it stands right now, Sony has a chance at a E3 to say "It's time we took back what was ours".
I can't even begin to think what could happen to them if they don't have the best show, they need to really hit the competition hard with what they got, if they wish to build up on what they have. I also think Microsoft needs to give a good show, but that all depends on whether Sony delivers or not.
Sony.
They had the slowest year when comparing the 3 companies, this is both in terms of Hardware and software sales. And with everybody saying "you just wait for this and that year" the time is now nearing that they have to play their cards.
Nintendo has a few things to prove, in that they have some big games coming out in 2008 but barely any info has been shown about them. Because of it, no one knows they even exist, which gets annoying. Also Pikmin 3 rumours need to prove me right.
Anyone know if e3 is going to look like a stockholder's meeting again? cametall
i think so, its kind of unfortunate, the e3 of the old days used to be so massive...

Isn't that what they are trying to do with E for All

there trying but the first year was small compared to old e3, itll take them a while until they can reach that magnitude, by that time e3 will be a pure business event with more people caring about e for all
I would have to say Nintendo.Hulknessyeah there on the chopping block this year with the hardcore crowd to actually see if there serious about games that appeal to us.
Microsoft. They need a new game plan.dream431cawhy? cuz great games in a timely fashion wasn't working?
everybody knows sony is going to finally bring out more than one aaa title to the ps3 with mgs4 and ff13. we all know gears 2 is a 5 million seller in the making and with other greats like ninja gaiden 2 and splinter cell conviction coming there will be several greats out by christmas. but what about wii? smash shoulda been out last year and that only leaves mariokart. what comes out after that? more party games? somebody outside nintendo needs to make a great action game for wii and nintendo needs a price drop otherwise i dont see this year goin good for them.
I think Nintendo have to, cause they seem pretty short in their line-up, so they must come up with something in E3...
Let's hope it will be better than last year's show...

Microsoft, they need to show what they actually have planned for this year, because so far there hasn't been much discussion on that front. Sony has a lot of things cooking and some more first and second parties waiting in the wings but Microsoft so far hasn't shown they have much.

I don't think you'll see one big event that gets all the attention like E3 used to, even before it was downsized expos elsewhere were growing pretty quickly. PAX is more or less doubling in size each year and the Austin GDC stands to gain a ton of attention among PC gamers in particular.
Theres also foreign gaming expos that are becoming more important as time goes on.Nintendo has the most to prove, but I have a feeling that it's just going to end up like E307. Microsoft and Sony have little to prove since they already have great lineups that will make fans happy. All they need to do is show some new IPs since that's what E3 is suppose to be about, right?leviathan91
If MS shows any new IPs it will be better than last year's E3....The only new game they showed last year was RE5 and that was on both systems.
Nintendo have NOTHING to prove. Anyone who thinks they wont have any big games coming out towards the end of the year are a bit ignorant. Nintendo aren't stupid, they've been in the industry for far longer than Sony and Microsoft and they KNOW they have to bring a couple more biggies to the table this year. Thats how things work in the industry and if Nintendo hadn't realised that by now they wouldn't still be here.
They're outselling everyone right now and they've took the number one spot even when people said the Wii would just be a gimmick and a fad. Give them some credit.
I dont expect alot out of Microsoft because they never seem to do anything Innovative, just big games which they kinda jumped the gun and already announce Gears at GDC.
Nintendo is Nintendo, I expect Mario and friends to be playing another sport and it to be a AA title.
Sony has the most to prove because we know theres alot in the works but not alot on the market. I think announcing dates for all the upcoming blockbusters is a must as well as introducing exclusives that have went into hiding it seems
After Smash Bros and Mario kart there is almost nothing to look forward too in 2008. VoteKidtendo
I highly disagree.
I have to go with Sony on this one... Sure, their exclusive gaming lineup sounds preatty but you never really know what could happen. From a critical standpoint at the moment, Sony is most definitely not in the lead when it comes to last years best games, they will have to make 2008 a whole different affair.
The PS3 is also in need of at least a few good exclusive games this year. I already see the Wii and even Xbox360 doing this, the PS3 needs it also, instead of ammounting their lits of games further down the year making them have the inevitable best list of games to look forward too... wich in this case in definitely not a good thing.
Seeing as MS has already delivered Three exclusives, one being the best JRPG to arrive this gen and maybe the best JRPG to date and Sony has yet to deliver even one exclusive to the PS3.
I would say at the very Least !
Sony needs to deliver some firm dates for the few games cows are banking on that they supposedly have coming this year or the cows are going to feel like it's 2007 all over again.
Nintendo, with the Wii is a odd ball from the norm and many will by the thing just for the pack-in games.
It's a tough question.
If we're talking the big 3... then I'd say Microsoft due to the 360's weakening position in the worldwide market.
The hardcore would probably say Nintendo...although I would actually say " 3rd parties making games for Nintendo platforms" are the ones who have the most to prove..as thus far most have shown themselves to be both cheap and inept.
