They also screwed over Infinity Ward. Other than that I don't think they really are that much evil from the standard mega company, in contrast EA is clearly the worst company in the business IMO. There may be other things about Activision I don't know about though. What makes activision evil again? I know they shutdown a dev but milked GH to death, but that's about it as far as I'm aware of.

I'd say EA since i couldnt play my bro's BF3 copy due to the stupid online pass while Actvision gives what the people want.
They are, but this is just between Electronic Arts and Actvision. I didn't want to make a poll about the most overall worst publisher because I'm sure there would be more than five, so you would have people complaining 'X' company doesn't deserve to be up there!' or 'Y is worst than all the listed above', etc.Wait... Capcom is not evil anymore?

Activision has never been evil. EA on the other hand started every bad trend in the industry.JohnnyCageMKAgree with this. Actvision just milks you, EA milks you, treats you like crap, force things you don't want onto you, mocks the competition, and ruins their games.
I would say Activison, they hired people to dig up dirt on 2 of their employee's that made them billions of dollars, just so they wouldnt have to pay them a bonus.
EA is a bigger threat to the industry though, they're pathetic.

Some of the developers breached their contract, got fired, didnt get paid then tried to sue. Then subsequently lost. What makes activision evil again? Yeah, they give people the exact same stupid online system with a 10 year old engine. People want that alright. :|I'd say EA since i couldnt play my bro's BF3 copy due to the stupid online pass while Actvision gives what the people want.

[QUOTE="finalstar2007"]Actvision gives what the people want.Jebus213The problem is obvious... you don't appear to know the difference between "what Jebus213 wants" and "what Activision's millions of paying customers want." I'd say it's an easy mistake to make... but it's not, really.

I'd say it's an easy mistake to make... but it's not, really. I don't care about what console players want. Most of them don't even know what mod tools and dedicated servers are and most console players don't even know anything about PC gaming beyond Farmville and WoW....well maybe Diablo 3 for the time being... Don't tell me the vast majority of PC gamers don't want that because they do. If they're not going to put all of that into the PC version of CoD(LIKE THEY USE TO) they might as well not make a PC version at all.
[QUOTE="Jebus213"][QUOTE="lowe0"]They're a business. Their job is to make money, and if they're making money hand over fist without catering to you, then why should they worry about it?lowe0I am well aware that there job is to give the shaft every year to the system it started on. The shaft? No. They offer you a product at a price. Buy it or don't. Where the franchise started has no relevance to the current transaction. The shaft? Yes. I can complain about whatever I damn well please so you can fvck off with your bullsh!t. You're talking to someone who's put 400 hours into every CoD up until MW2. So I don't have the right to complain and be p!ssed on how badly the series has become?

If there is anything I've learned about SW, its that the more basis you have for your critisisms, the more likely people are to bash you for them.
I love this. It's ridiculously cyclical how those two companies are. Not three years ago we were having this conversation, and Activision was the big bad. EA had a great 2010 with John Riccitiello at the helm, then 2011 comes around and they start rolling out these policy changes. Now they are the "worst company in America" once again. Activision is doing the smartest thing they can do, and that's wait out the sh!tstorm that EA is getting themselves into. Aside from Project Icebreaker, Acti hasn't made the headlines in quite a while (and even then that seemed to be over in one, fell settlement-swoop). They're raking in the Call of Duty and Blizzard dough and they have no need for any kind of press.
Once Riccitiello is out, EA will die down for a time and Acti will be the focusing rod of gamers' hate soon enough.
[QUOTE="thom_maytees"]Maybe so.Did both of them commit crimes against humanity?
ShadowsDemon
I heard EA will come to your house with baseball bats and smash sh*t. :o Activision eats kittens
Companies are "evil"? Gamers are such toddlers.Rockman999They are allowed to suggest laws and influence the voting. And you are saying companies cannot be evil?
[QUOTE="Rockman999"]Companies are "evil"? Gamers are such toddlers.EponiqueAnd what is wrong with such a statement? It's impossible for companies to be unethical?First of all evil =/= unethical. Second, there's nothing unethical about a company charging a nominal fee for a product or service that they provide. Gaming is not a birth right or a requirement for life, it is a luxury. These corporations don't owe you anything beyond what you pay for and they don't force you to buy their products. If you don't like what they're selling then go buy elsewhere.
