Who is the most bad ass of the bad asses?

First what makes a character a bad ass?A character who always kicks ass and does it without caring. A character who takes no nonsense and defys the odds. A character who relys on nothing but their own skill and wit. A character that never gives up.(characters such as Master Cheif are not bad asses because they rely on being geneticaly modified and thick armor to win, real bad asses rely on only their own skill and wit to win). Kratos:Why is he a bad ass?Because he goes to hell and LITERALLY climbs back out! Who is more bad ass than that? He is also capable of killing pagan gods. If you were going to be in a bar fight, Kratos is the man you want watching your back! Kratos kills gods, titans, and anything else that get's in his way. He does not care. He can rip people in half with his bare hands and has even killed Hercules! Who is supposed to be the strongest man alive, obviously Kratos proved that to be untrue. If you saw Kratos walking down the street, you would cross to the other side, or just run away. You stay out of this guy's way. Gordon Freeman:Why is he a bad ass?Because he kicks ass and doesn't b!tch about it! That's why! Always calm, always collected, this man single handidly destroyed an alein invasion and corrupted government. He is highly intelligent, creative, and always dangerous. You don't fvck with Gordon Freeman! He also has a girl that follows him around, and he managed to do it without even saying a word, this is because he is a bad ass. If you walked into an elevator and saw Gordon in there, you would just know he is a bad ass, you can just tell from the energy he gives off.Snake:Why is he a bad ass?Because not only is his name Snake, but he has also been shot at, burnt, stabbed, bitten, starved, and yet still manages to come out on top and save the world! Even when he get's into old age (Either Solid or Boss Snake) he still keeps kicking ass. You cannot kill Solid Snake, end of story. He will find a way to survive any situation and defeat any enemy. Snake is a true bad ass.Batman:Why is he a bad ass?Because he's Batman. Enough said. He has trained his body in various martial arts and throws himself into dangerous scenarios constantly, like putting himself into a loony bin filled with murderous psycho paths that want to kill him at any cost. Any normal kind of video game character would break down and cry for their life in such a place. But not Batman! And he does all the while always sticking to his moral rules such as not killing. Batman keeps you alive so you can FEEL the pain! That is a true bad ass right there.Mario:Why is he a bad ass?On the surface many of you would laugh and mock the idea of Mario being a bad ass, but those people are fools. If you dig deeper and look closer you discover a person who is not only a bad ass, but may in fact be the very first bad ass of video games. This guy is driven by his love for a woman, and is willing to trek across dangerous places filled wth evil turtles that want to bash your brains in with hammers, climb dangrous ladder sky scrapers and fight a giant gorilla, tread through sewer pipes and dark water ways, Mario does it all in the name of love! And he is just an Italian Plumber, and as we all know, Italians are pretty bad ass! No matter how many times his love get's in trouble, Mario always takes up the cause. That is some true commitment right there, the mark of a real bad ass.

The characters from the Yakuza games are usually quite badass. Kratos isn't since all he does is whine and kill for almost no reason.

Duke Nukem is childish and juvenile. He is for immature kids. He does not count as a bad ass because his games suck. Bad ass characters make Bad ass games, not bad games.

Honestly.... Nathan Drake.. I have yet to see a character face extreme certain death without superpowers (Overwhelming odds, Descendants, Shambala guardians, Train crash, Apartment crash, Plane crash, Boat crash, Car crash, Desert section, fighting while drugged up) He fought his way through hordes of enemies to save Sully two times, Chloe once, Elena countless times while searching for treasure, even though his friends bail on him (except Sully and Elena) That is pretty badass

Seriously? This isn't even a contest. A better question would be: Which DMC game is Dante, the most bad ass dude ever, the most bad ass in?

Obviously it would be a choice out of DMC3 and DMC4. Young, crazy and wild versus seasoned, crazy and a mature sort of wild.

There is only one answer to this question. As of now, this thread reeks of ignorance. Please allow me to enlighten you. Geralt of Rivia is the most badass character currently in all known IP's. I'm a huge fan of Snake, Gordon, Dante, Kratos, and many others listed here, but none of them come -close- to touching Geralt. I've organized the list below to educate you all in badassness: (1) Geralt has Had Sex with More Women than Every Character Listed, Combined Let's face it, gents, Snake and Master Chief may have large guns, but they're both virtually virgins and could not hold a conversation with a woman if their lives depended on it. Geralt, on the other hand, has charmed virtually every woman he has come across. Kratos comes close, sure, but he still has not banged (half) as many broads. Moreover, Geralt has banged all sorts of women: thin, chubby, busty, whores, princesses, and more. (2) Geralt kills Monsters, Humans, and Elves with Melee Weapons that He Personally Oils, Sharpens, and Enhances. Guns are for cowards. Period. If you've ever hunted an animal, siting it down through a high powered rifle is quite easy. Stabbing it through the throat with a hunting knife is an entirely different matter. Especially when you must maintain the blade yourself (speaking from personal experience as an avid knife fan and hunter). Moreover, he carries two bastard swords, and an arsenal of weapons. (3) Geralt Consumes Illegal Drugs that Would Kill Anyone on This List (all to make him go bat**** crazy and stab things with impunity). Half of you have never tried shrooms, acid, or any other illegal drug. If you have, you understand how potent and mind-altering a drug can be. Sure, Snake has suffered Foxdie, but Geralt wiffs down the equivalent of crack on a daily basis so he can better stab things. No one on this list could snort, drink, and smoke as many drugs as he does! (4) Geralt Does Not Care About Loyalty, Friendship, And All Other Forms of Honorable Nonsense Frankly, he hunts giant monsters for coin, so he can go drink and whore. Master Chief is too busy trying to SAVE TEH WORLD. Dante is a shallow uber-vampire-thing. Gordon wears glasses. Enough said. (5) Geralt Enjoys Fist-Fighting, Out-Drinking Dwarves, Arm-Wrestling, and Frequenting Brothels in His Freetime ...While Snake smokes in a shed somewhere in Alaska, Master Chief franics over killing aliens, and Mario wastes his time chasing the same ice queen. (6)Geralt Knows When to Shut His Mouth and When to Utter The Best Dialogue in Gaming Find a more witty antagonist. Try. Good luck.

In sum, while you are reading this, Geralt is wiping basilisk and elven blood off his swords, sleeping with your sister, punching your brother out, and snorting a bunch of drugs. Good Day.
