Oh please.. I just had to spend 20$ on a 8 MEG MEMORY CARD for my PS2. I mean really.. the console is 10 years old now (or almost) and they still sell those things for 20$ (Canadian)??? That's insane..

They're "Special" hard drives and "Special" 512 MB cards, so that's why there so expensive.

[QUOTE="skrat_01"]Because thats just it - its a work around, of what should be a standard. Simple really, its not a solution.Stevo_the_gamer
It's still a solution to your money problem and not being able to afford the XBL service. You wanted free and you can get it -- free. This is common sense. If you don't want to pay for something, don't you think taking that five extra minutes to create an account once a month is incredibly worth it?

Not when I can turn on my computer and play all my games for free. With no hassle. Without worrying about juggling monthly accounts, and transfering profile details such as friends across.. I'd rather play on my PS3 quite frankly. Again its a work around, temporary solution, if you are that desperate to play your games online - and of course if I HAD to play a new 360 title online, im sure i'd do that. Only problem is I have stopped buying 360 games for online play.

Hope you don't own WoW. :P You can play on whatever you think is best, or suits your needs -- I was merely just presenting a different and more "logical" approach in approaching XBL is you're low on cash. Instead of complaining, give it a run and play damn it! :)

I do own WoW (and BC), however I never subscribed - didn't have an incentive too. Same with EVE online. Haven't played an MMO that gels and justifies it, yet. Though yeah, it works as a work around, and if I had to, i'd do it of course.

i think nintendo does. they keep on releasing new mario games, smash brothers, metroid prime, mario cart. all of these games have been around for a while. HD drives for the 360 are over priced. i have a 20gig hard drive but i haven't bought a new one. no, point if i'm good with memory. only people that get milked are the people who buy the hard drives. i do think it is possible to buy a hard drive and make it so it works on the 360.

[QUOTE="hyperkass"]

Gotta give it to Microsoft, put the Arcade at a ridiculousy good price, people buy then realise they need a decent harddrive.

Boom. Business.

Trinners

the laugh is on the consumers that don't do proper research :lol:

And that right there is what they are banking on. The hope that the average consumer doesn't do his homework and makes an impulse buy.... The advertise the hell out of the system and people go to the store and have xbox fanboys as gamestop employees with wrong information telling them the 360 is so cool. Meanwhile if you do research on ps3 you would know it's the better value by far. I could list the features and reasons why, but I've done that far too many times. A lot of people rushed getting an hd console and got a 360 instead of waiting a few years to see what all 3 had to offer, it's the same reason their are millions of people with wii's collecting dust or broken 360's with rrod. Another thing is when you are a kid you don't see the value of something as much since you don't make money or you don't make much money, this demographic has to rely on telling their parents the price of the console. As most of the parents don't research this stuff the kids will tell them the entry costs of the console just to get it, leaving off the over all expense..... On a last note M$ can't lower it's outrageous milkage prices for accessories, if it did the xbox Elite would loose value and people would realize just how much a rip it is.

Well, Nintendo may releasenew mario games, smash gmes, metroid, and cart, but the key word is NEW, and one is NOT required to buy them. The franchises has been around for while, but they are FAR from the same game. And the person that listed the classic controller as part of the package should remove it, because it isn't required at all.

You can use practically any SD card up to 32GB, where as tochange the hard drive on the 360 without buying the official hard drive, you have to jump through hoops to make it work plus I would think it would void your warranty.

But a good question has been poised here: have any 360 users filled their standard hard drives yet for the 360? Do they really see the need to go beyond 20 GIG?

M$ knows that people think they're getting a deal if they spend over $400 spread out across several payments than if they spend $400 for one item even if that one item comes with more features than you would get by spending $400 on several items. Consumers really are gullible.

[QUOTE="mariokart64fan"]

whom ever buys a 360 is getting milked because

to get close-just close to what ps3 offers youd spend

300 for a 60 gb 360

60 per game-360

60 per controller -420

100 wireless adapter-520

100+ hd dvd drive-620 or more

50 a year for xbox live-680

ps3

games-60

system 400-80 gb ps3-460

extra controllrt-60 520

internet-/online-free

wii

games= 50

console 250=300 so far

controllers 80(classic controller and the set for exta cotroller)380

wifi-free

internetbrowser-5 dollars. 385

thats it, lol ,

wii is the cheapest for the whole expierence, but you can even cut that price down if you did not get a classic controller because you dont need it until your ready for vc

so tell me now ,whos ripping who , 360 is bc your still getting 20 gigs less for the 100 cheaper 360 l ol and you dont even get wifi or online play with that so good luck ,

I always have a laugh at these price lists but yours even made me laugh a little harder. Why would you need another hdd when you buy a 60gig 360 to begin with?

Agreed the Xbox 360's HDD's are way too expensive. That's why I havent upgraded yet, I haven't even upgraded my 60GB PS3 HDD.

Oh teh irony :lol: For the price of the 120GB 360 drive (200 dollars I think it is), you can get one with triple the storage for the PS3 and the only difference is one has a casing and the other goes inside the system instead of on top. Also, only a tool would think that the PS3 is the only console with forced installs. Enjoy running out of storage space soon lemmings, cause in a year or so all games will require installs on the 360 and PS3 unless you don't mind switching discs a lot for games and you will soon run out of room.

It's about ~$130.00, or you can buy them used for about $90.00

For me WoW has more play value then any console game in existance. 15 dollars a month for unlimited play and consistantly getting new content makes it worthwhile. I haven't even completed half the achievements in the game yet and there are more coming with the next patch.
