[QUOTE="i_like_pizza"]Well, there is nothing standard about my tv, but I still play in ED, if that's what you mean. I play in SD about half the time, ED about half the time, depending on where I have my Wii.Marka1700
The Wii dosn't go Past ED anyway, so it's not an issue.
Yeah, I know. I have an HDTV though. So, it's not a "standard tv" is all I was saying. I play in SD or ED, but it's actually an HDTV. Just clarifying is all.
I can't believe so many people here game on sdtv are you guys wii/ps2 only owners or kids ??BrooklynBomber
You've got to be kidding me.
Everyone who doesn't own/play on an HDTV is suddenly a kid?
Just so you know, 360 still looks dang good in SD. Higher resolution is great and all, but it's not the end of the world if you can't have it, and it certainly has nothing to do with the age of the player. I hate elitists.
I can't believe so many people here game on sdtv are you guys wii/ps2 only owners or kids ??BrooklynBomberNo, alot of us are not consumer clowns willing to throw down too much lettuce for a few more lines to play games. Some of us also have to work damn hard for our money and have things like mortgages and light bills, and high-maintenance princesses to take care of.

You do relize hdtvs cost money correct?
Yeah they cost money but a working adult should be able to buy a hdtv, many stores in nyc let you buy now and pay 3-6 months later. If you are cheap just hop online an grab one it comes to your door in a couple days no tax !!Really it's 2007 almost 2008 I am shocked that here in what I assume is mostly core gamers that the level of hdtv penetration is so low.
I kind of wish i did. I'm play Wii on a cheap 32 LCD and its kinda sucky. Sure the color is way better than my cheap 19 tube, but its so... gritty and jaggy. Goten_king
get component cables

Yeah, God forbid you need to pay for things like electricity, heat, rent/mortgage, and even food.
I do... Oblivion on an SDTV looks pretty good.Funkyhamster
whats with this thread its like if you dont have a hdtv then why get a next-gen console i play GEOW on SDTV and its fine i dont need a Hdtv
Last week I used to, but now I play on a HDTV. It looked good on a SDTV but obviously looks better on HDTV.
I am surprised to see so many of us are still gaming on a Standard Tv. This was one reason why I somewhat held off on an Xbox 360 for a while; Developers were making a big deal on how having a HDTV was the only way to play games this generation. I am glad I am not the only playing my new system of a Standard Tv. I was already amazed at the graphical quality anyways. An HDTV would be ideal, but I a decent one does set you back dollar wise.

...and when you can't pay in 6 months, the debt is transferred and you're charged 30% interest while your credit rating goes down the crapper! Deferred payment plans FTW!
[QUOTE="myster_samz"][QUOTE="EPaul"]I do i want an HDTV but it's too expenisve ($7000 and up)Marka1700
What the hell are you talking about? You can buy huge HDTV's for less than $3000.
He's probably looking At 50/60" 1080P LCDs
I kown what he´s talking about, i live in México city and the PS3 60 gig cost $9000 pesos, like $850 dollar. this cause the retailers had to pay a lot on taxes for import those products, and EPaul said he lives in the Caribbean, so its very possible over there an HDTV be in $7000rickhuntermacro
And I though we were been rippied of with $1000 for a PS3 here. It's only about $1600 for a 32" Samsung LCD here.
Standard for me. HD isn't something I can afford when I'm collecting such a vast amount of games. As long as I have a TV that I can play games on then that will do.Blackbond
Seem an odd strategy to focus on collecting games at the expense of their experience.

If you can't save enough to start making your monthly payments in 6 months games should not be on your agenda at all imo because your bankrupt living way beyond your means.[QUOTE="Blackbond"]Standard for me. Well I like to play games. Buying a $600 TV would set me back considerably.

Agreed. Though I have a HD, I still play games on an SDTV (not including PC games)...
While there are plans to replace one of the gaming TVs to an HD, it's not important enough for me... The 360 already looks great even on an SD, and I'm happy with the Wii...
But I'm way too busy now to play games as much as I used to, even though in the eyes of some, it's still a lot... (say... 10-20(on a slower week) hrs a week) Once a few projects are launched (yay for job deadlines), I'll have more time on my hands... but then my next semester at school starts...
Now excuse me as I go and buy Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 (nexgen) for the 360 to complete my Sonic game collection... Even if I wouldn't play it again...
For me it's:
SD - 360, PS2
HD - PS3
ball_of_air
Not enough cable inputs on HD TV? lol.
For me PS2/GC on SD TV in my room. But when i get all three next gen consoles(i only have 360) it will be
- Componant RGB wii(for 480p resolution)
- VGA - 360
- HDMI- PS3.
I do.myster_samz
Oh ok for a minute I thought you made a thread to bash people who didnt buy a HDTV....
nevermind...you're cool
Game On...
You can get a brand new 26" Vizio LCD HDTV for $450 or under (32" for ~$600) now-a-days and those TV's are really good for budget gamers. I mean, if people are willing to put down $500-$600 down on a PS3 then I think you can put down atleast $450 to play in HD.
As for me, I play on a Sony 32" LCD HDTV.

Dude i live in the Caribbean you guys are lucky one video game costs $250(PS2 game)
Join the tropical life :P. I don't think that you're talking about the US$ currency but I do agree that the prices here are 2-3 times more than they should be :(... Still, I manage to get a game once in a whole :P.
[QUOTE="goblaa"]Sure do.
It's just to soon for HDTV. I'll wait till price drops, more movies are in HD, and there's more HD programing....I don't watch sports.
myster_samz
The only movie I really wanna see in HD, is 300.
I would like to see all the Star Trek movies in HD
