Who thinks the PS3 is about to become top dog again?

Whether it will take over in terms of total sales that quickly is debatable, but it seems that the whole world has forgotten about the 360 and is now focusing on the PS3. No games for the 360 coming out soon, the PS3 slim, the price drop, the exclusives... big names like GT5 and GoW...

MS just seems tired now... and i think for some people, the 360 seems like an old console, even tho it is pretty much as powerful

Absolutely not. Maybe it'll pass the 360 in the next couple of years (and that's a big maybe), but in order to overtake the Wii by November 2015 (the latest next-gen could possibly start) the PS3 would have to outsell the Wii by almost 400K units per month.

it possibly could take the xbox 360 lead in salez(from the 1 year head start) but that depends on the name brand, price and games and so far the name brandis still strong, the price has become excellent and it has the games....

Let's not forget that right now in gsmestop stores they are being sold out...

Well definitely too soon to tell. I do believe though Sony is going in the right direction and has definitely stirred up the most publicity recently. This with the GOW1&2 remastering they are sure going to pick up sales. Now lets wait until Mid Oct. to see what the Sep. NPD numbers look like. If they are around the 360 or better than you might be on to something but lets not get too carried away until we see some hard numbers. The PS3 is coming out with some great exclusives in the next seven months but remember HALO ODST is coming out shortly so nobody knows what impact that will have. Will it be more of a Halo Wars impact good sales but not much movement on systems or will ithave more a Halo 3 impact that moves sysytem sales. Just have to wait and see butSony is really lookin up for any potential and existing owners finally. Now if GT5 can come out before Christmas Sony might just pass MS this Holiday season.

Actually 360 and PC will get Left4Dead2, Splinter Cell and Mass Effect 2. Alan Wake is 360 exclusives. Anyway, none of these games can be played on a PS3

Regardless of whether it does or doesn't, its going to have to get more games that appeal to my tastes before I call it anything other then good.

PS3 was never top dog. PS2 was during it's run. PS3 has been bottom of the barrel since launch. Actually, PS2 is still above PS3 in terms of sales and that's just truly sad.PS3 may surpass 360 in a few years but it will never pass the Wii in terms of sales. All three systems have games coming out that appeal to every genre of gamer but IMO the Wii has more to look forward to in 2009 and 2010 than either of the other two.

the ps3 has sold less than the Wii. if that statement is true, wouldnt the masses have bought ps3 instead of 360 and Wii?
