I have it, but while it's still fun, I'm not entirely happy with my purchase. I feel like I'm playing Splatoon 1.5 rather than Splatoon 2.
While the campaign has different levels, it still feels too much like the same game I've already played. You have the same setup, the same objective, even the same Final boss. It just felt like I was replaying an old game, not experiencing a new one for the first time, and it got a little tedious.
MP has the same issues. It's the same set up, the same game types, the same annoying restrictions that hold you back from playing how you want and what you want. The new weapons are interesting, but far from enough to make the game feel new. It also doesn't help that a fair chunk of the maps are returning ones. Sure they have some changes to them that improve the QoL, but they don't do anything close to enough to make them feel new again.
Salmon Run is by far the most fun part of the game, and that is straight up because I've not played it before. I've played similar Horde modes, such as Gears and Mass Effect, but this is still a great and unique take on it.
The game is amazing for anyone who didn't play the original, but It's funny that a game that constantly talks about "staying fresh", released in a rather stale state for those of us who played the first. It just feels more like Splatoon Deluxe, than a true Splatoon 2.
