It's gotta be Nintendo, right?
My favorite companies on overall output, probably Nintendo and Capcom.
Individual studios, plenty of great ones, really couldn't choose. Platinum, From, EPD, id, Arcsys, etc.
Nintendo make too many baffling decisions. Such as time-limited horde mode for Splatoon 2 for... ...reasons? Also, why did they replace the varied characters in Paper Mario TTYD with a bazillion Toads?
Probably FromSoftware or SIE Santa Monica.
I guess nintendo?
Don't necessarily love all of their games, but I can't recall them ever releasing a buggy broken mess!
Why do people say Nintendo like its just one company?
Now i don't keep up with Nintendo, but i'm sure there is multiple dev teams working there.
Nintendo aren't the best when they've been milking the same tired old franchises for the better part of 40yrs lol.
Having said that i would say Playground games are the best devs right now.
CDPR, jk.
Its got to be Nintendo. Say what you want, but for 30 plus years they've been making rock solid quality games that are fun and enjoyable. Everyone wants Nintendo to go 3rd party
Nintendo, From Software, Naughty Dog, Capcom, Relic, Creative Assembly, and Insomniac are the ones that come to mind when I think of my favorites.
@blaznwiipspman1: Not everyone, as i don't care for Nintendo's offerings.
thats fine...I personally would love to see a zelda or metroid done on the series X. They have so much awesome IP and talent as developers.
@blaznwiipspman1: Nintendo don't know how to do anything graphics wise other than cartoony, why do you think the Switch is so underpowered?
Its because Nintendo made it to run their games, be damned about other devs that aren't indie lol.
For me Nintendo make some of the worst games.

well I disagree with you and i think you're wrong but you can think what you want. I think nintendo is smart, they don't need to have the strongest console, just something strong enough. Look, even MS figured out the game and they released the series S for cheap, its because 4k is a worthless scam. On consoles you cant tell the difference between 1080p and 4k resolution, its impossible because they sit too far away.
Since MS offered the series S, that means nintendo can release a system thats similar to it in specs and they will be fine.

Dude why are you talking about resolution? i never mentioned it and it has nothing to do with our conversation.
Nintendo does cartoony and that's it, i'm not asking for a machine that can do 4k, just some games with a more mature themes and graphics, and stop milking the same franchises for 40yrs.
The Switch could have at least been as powerful as last gen machines considering its a current gen machine.
Nintendo aren't smart, they're cheap and know their fanbase are easily milked.
I don't know, tbh. I tend to think in terms of individual games because it's rare (never?) that a developer checks all my boxes every time.
Many are kind of one-note, as well, which... Idk. I was going to mention Creative Assembly, for example, but almost all they do is Total War and of course diehard connoisseurs of the series still have favorites and they have their share of controversies (bugs, mtx).
Gonna go with Valve.
Privately-owned multi-billion dollar company, does what it wants and is pro-gamer, not beholden to stockholders.
Made the best FPS and one of the best game series of all time (Half-Life series)
Made Steam and changed the way we buy games forever, and for the better.
Made the best VR system to date.
Yeah I know they don't crank out the games like they used to, but the good they've done for gaming is incredible.
Nintendo follow by Capcom.
Even if TLOU has been my tops favorite game for the past 5 years and I honestly doubt that another game is going to take it’s crown, ND hadn’t done anything else that I like, so I can’t call them best overall based one just one franchise
@mrbojangles25: You call all the the unanswered calls from gamers for a HL3, and then making a VR HL game to sell its VR device as "pro gamer" lol.
You're delusional at best, a Gabe fanboy at worst.

its nothing to do with cartoony, people just buy nintendo systems for nintendo games mainly. 3rd party games don't sell well on switch. Also what does it matter if they release the same games. Thats what people want, so give it to them. How many COD games are out there? Do people even talk about milking a franchise anymore with developers like activision and blizzard out there who milk the shit out of their franchises even worse than nintendo?
I think its smart for nintendo to just keep on doing their own thing, even if their console is weaker, they still sell alot of games and make a ton of profit.

If a company can keep up the quality while also mixing up the gameplay from one entry to the next, don't really care if they keep the same franchise rolling.

I mean, Nintendo doesn't even revisit a series every 2 years lol. Usually see an outing once per gen, twice per gen tops. And that's their big guns, other franchises will skip entire gens. All aside from the fact that they do create new IPs.
However, between the big 3, the only one who regularly invests big in new IP is Sony. Yep, your favorite lol.
My answer would be Nintendo, like every other person here who aren't wrong.
Also add whoever made Resogun, playing it right now and DAMN it's still a blast.
I think that's Housemarque. An amazing but not very well known developer. They've made shit like Dead Nation, Alienation, Nex Machina and more, all awesome arcade games. Sadly, their games sold like crap, so they have now abandoned arcade games and do other projects.

Is this guy serious he only listed xbox owned studios this guys a friggin fanboy
@ConanTheStoner: For starters take Forza Street off your list, MS bought the game, the game was called something else and re named Forza Street.
Now go over your Nintendo list, and tell me how many games has Nintendo released in the same time frame that had Mario in it, and get back to me.
@i_p_daily:
Yeah, made sure to highlight Playground and Horizon series specifically.
That being said, if you're arguing "IP milking" then yup, Forza Street is in it.
And whether you're arguing IP or series, the result is just as hypocritical either way. Forza IP has seen 12 releases in 15 years. Horizon specifically, 4 in 8.
Personally? Don't care. Not about to compare Paper Mario to Odyssey, or Age of Calamity to Breath of the Wild lol. If that's your argument, knock yourself out. Not saying Forzas rapid fire releases are a bad thing either. Just pointing out the contradiction is all.
And while Mario as an IP sees more use than Forza, it's used across a far wider range of game types. Other Nintendo IPs? Less frequent than Forza, Horizon or otherwise.

Nah dude I see the world for what it is, good and bad, I'm just not a hater like you is all.
BTW HL: Alyx just got GOTY courtesy of Gamespot, and no doubt some others will follow suite, so apparently I am not alone in thinking Valve is doing a pretty good job.
I can live with one game every ~10 years if they're the caliber of Half-life, Counter-Strike, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and Team Fortress. They can take their time.
Oh ya, and Steam. Can't forget about the greatness of Steam...inexpensive games, vast library, new releases, backwards compatibility, mod support, and community tools...to name just a few perks of Steam.
Valve is the total package. Good for gamers, good for games.
@mrbojangles25: Nope Valve is for Valve, not for gamers, Valve got spanked by Australian law to the tune of $3 million for refusing refunds, they don't care about you only your money, its as simple as that.

They can do both; succeed as a business, and succeed as a service and provider. It's the perfect representation of how capitalism should work; successful and privately-owned company, honed by competition, providing for happy customers.
As for the lawsuit, meh. They will trip occasionally as any business does, but they come back better unlike other companies. They offer refunds by the way, so it's a moot point in either case.
Nintendo, Rockstar, Naughty Dog, From Soft would be my Mount Rushmore. Hon mention to Insomniac and Super Giant.
