@ConanTheStoner: No, Mario has been in just about everything for the last 40yrs.

Comparing Forza's game volume history to Mario's game volume history pales in comparison.

Mario has had that many games that he is Nintendo's (and gaming in generals) prostitute.

Capcom.

There's a handful worth mentioning, but the correct answer is above.

Of course.

@i_p_daily:

Neat.

Well yeah, like I said, don't really care either way. Donkey Kong releasing nearly 40 years ago doesn't really weigh on my opinion of Mario Odyssey. And again, Mario is just one of many Nintendo IPs. Not disputing that he's been in more games than any character.

But hey, if that's your criteria for judging developer quality, have at it man. 😄

Just seems you want it both ways.

- Nintendo (Mario) is bad because their successful IPs have been around longer. Milked.

- Forza is great even though you're getting rapid fire iterations of the same two game types. Not milked.

Aside from being contradictory, it's just a simple minded take in general. Looking at sheer volume over the decades, rather than quality, variety, or frequency of release. I get you don't actually play these games, but seems the stuff would be self evident?

Yeah...the Big N is timeless. They'll always have a special place in my heart. Nintendo all the way.

@ConanTheStoner: Look Nintendo made a racing game, oh its a Mario game and thus Mario characters. Nintendo makes a Golf game oh wait its a Mario game with Mario characters in it. Nintendo makes a Tennis game oh wait its a Mario game with more Mario characters, see where i'm going with this?

That's is milking in the extreme.

Releasing at Forza game every year isn't milking its giving people a choice of wether they want track based or open world racing, as one comes one year & the other the next.

My favorite companies on overall output, probably Nintendo and Capcom.

Individual studios, plenty of great ones, really couldn't choose. Platinum, From, EPD, id, Arcsys, etc.

Recently I'd probably go with:

  • Capcom
  • From Software
  • Platinum Games
  • Nintendo
  • Arc Systems Works

Maybe also Team Ninja but I haven't played the Nioh games yet.
