'Why do PC games take 1 hour to decompress and instal?' I don't know, try buying games instead of downloading your way through them, and you may just get your install times to 15 minutes. Even so, it still doesn't take 1 hour no matter how hard you try.

Ok this thread as made me laugh, RAR versions are nowhere near an hour either, so, enought with the high-horse attitudes from you all. your just as wrong in saying it takes that long.
I bought the full Dragon Age pack (24gb) on steam and it only took including install just over an hour or so. I have waited an hour on a 1GB download from PSN though!

yeah each time i beat a chapter in mgs4 it was like a 8 minute install so in total if i had to do it all at once would have been much closer to an hour then 1 minute...

Its funny how Steam downloads 600kb/s for me. and PSN, strangely enough downloads... 600kb/s too.
Actually, my Steam downloads have 461kb/s average... :| (600kb/s is my max speed)

psn servers are much much slower then steam servers from my experience i was expecting huge gains in dl speed on my ps3 when i upgraded my internet to a 20mb/s fios connection like i saw on my pc with steam and downloads in general but no it was slow in comparasion Steam lets me reach 2.5MB/s when downloading psn doesn't come close.

Yeah same thing for me i think he's underestimating how fast some people internet really is the fastest plan i could get right now from my isp would let me download at over a 6MB/s
