I don't think the PSP got a better screen, and it certainly didn't get as big of an aesthetic redesign as the DS Lite. The DS Lite's biggest improvement, besides size and screen, was in its aesthetics. The new PSP looks identical to the old one, but thinner.

1. It isn't as much of an improvment. Same screen, no extra analog stick, ect.
2. It's actually more expensive than the original, while the DS Lite was less.

I'll be getting one, but the new PSP is not as good of a deal as the DS Lite was when it launched.

Its not more expensive. It comes with a game, a movie and a 1 gig card. Once they milk the bundle, they will release the unit by itself at the regular price. Typical sony.

The DS had barely any problems to begin with. The only problems with the DS were the brightness and the form factor. The PSP has more problems then it has watered down PS2 ports

Yeah, but the problem with the PSP wasn't limited to design, the system has other problems, and this redesign doesn't address those.

Which sheep are saying it's laughable? I'd have liked a slightly smaller screen, some form of clamshell / screen protection and a better refresh rate on the screen, but the changes that they've made were good.

It's not going to start competing with the DS but the revision is good for the platform.

I doubted that lemmings and cows still existed after Nintendo E3 Conference 2006. Oh, wait, I didn't, although Nintendo pretty much owned that E3. It's silly assuming that fans of a company suddenly disappear due to a bad press conference. I mean, cows still exist, don't they?

load times and short battery life are things sheep winged about on the PSP for ages and infact still do, id say those are good problems to fix sheep seem to want to cry about almost everything sony do these days this is nigh on identical to what nitendo did with the ds sheep have no place to complain about this move

IMO it was worse than Sony's E306 conference, but it won't have the same kind of effect that Sony's did on their console's market status.

Back then, it was just goofs and the price that started the PS3's freefall from being the top dog to the bottom of the heap. It was sensationalism that ruined last year's Sony E306 conference. This year, Nintendo's E307 conference was just....empty. Almost nothing of value or substance at all. There weren't any silly bungles or embarrassments or whatnot. Nintendo just completely screwed up their potential.

But the market won't punish them for it, because almost no one from Nintendo's target audience watches E3 anyway.

Advocacy of any form is bad. If i was a cow i'd still be playing watered down PS2 ports on a PSP. If i was a Sheep i would be be waving my hands round playing a gamecube game while proclaiming it as the next big thing. If you must be predisposed tow ards anything then make it quality. That way you never lose

well...some say it's laughable because it really looks almost EXACTLY LIKE the PSP...well...has always looked. It looks the same. Yea it's smaller, and thinner...but prettier? No, it's always been "pretty" (lol), and it still is. It's just a letdown cuz...ya know, a system redisign usually consists of a big makeover. And the difference between the DS and the DS lite was CRYSTAL clear. I guess some people were just expecting something...more. Maybe a second analog stick? Or a "flip" design?
