Not really. I sure as heck don't have my pc hooked up to a 50in Plasma with a 5.1 custom built sound system, I don't sit on a comfortable couch when I'm on the pc, and if I succumb to using a controller for pc games, in addition to hooking it up to the theater--well, I might as well call it a gaming console.
Because in any Absolute situation and or scenario perfection and the absolute is a flaw and therefor invalid.
If we go by that logic then PC is the best at it all, and we shouldn't even own consoles...ect...ect
but its an absolute and therefor its systemwars and we would have nothing to talk about, therefor there would be no system wars...no gamespot *since systemwars is what keeps this site afloat* It would be a total matter inclusion...existance it self...would implode then likely explode...
Fanboys calling other fanboys fanboys. Only on system wars.Have fun fighting for second place, fanboys!
Dick_Derringer
Because PC is actually way too dominant in some areas that comparing the Xbox 360/PS3 to the PC would be like having a white belt in karate fight a Viking that replaced his arms with chainsaws verse off in a head to head cage match. Simply unfair to the little guy.

Why do people always bring up the size of a TV in comparison to a monitor? You do realise that your eyes are further away from your TV, while my 22" PC monitor is right in front of my eyes? 50" screens are useless if you are far too away from them. thank you captain obvious.
This. Finally, an intelligent, and mature response. Graphics wise, it may be the best (on the PC) but nothing beats the immersive feeling of playing on a big HDTV screen. I played the first Gears of War on PC, although it has CRISP graphics (along with so many bugs and issues), it wasn't half near as immersive as playing it on the 360 with a big screen. All systems have their strongsuit, and PC certainly has it's fair share.

A pc can also be use on on a hdtv. there a 2 ways that I know: VGA and HDMI. Though I don't see graphics card have hdmi ports very often but i think the new dx11 does.

Thank you. I have to admit, sitting in my comfortable couch, with 4 of my buddies, playing a multiplayer game in the livingroom has it's own fair share of thrills I don't get my my PC room. :P It's very SOLO (One person per PC) gaming oriented. Of course, I've LAN Partied with games on PC, but it's not the same as the type of immersion you mentioned above.
Gears and Gears 2 were a blast as well, sitting by myself with a cold one, and my giant screen/sound system a blazin'.
There are benefits and sacrifices for all the machines, for sure.

You can connect PC's to HDTV's :|Yes, you can and I didn't insinuate that you couldn't....but that doesn't mean games are now magically programmed for splitscreen.;)
It also doesn't magically make console only games like FFXIII or GeoW2 suddently available for PC. It's also not very convienant.
PC is awesome, and as we know has many, many benefits on consoles...but there are sacrifices to deal with as well.

Split screen is pointless TBH.Multiplats are not by any means "always better on pc". Consoles have standardized hardware. If I play a console game at my house, then go to my buddies house and play the same game, I'm going to have pretty much the same experience. Whereas if one guy has a top of the line gaming rig, he's going to have a very different experience from someone who has, say a $300 off the shelf e-Machine or something. Even with games from several years ago, the cheap 'puter is going to play the game on very low settings with low polygon models, low-res textures, choppy frame-rates, and the occasional complete freeze. That's IF it will play the game at all. So if I compare multiplats on a $300 PS3, a $300 x360 or a $300 pre-built PC, then no, in most cases PC is NOT going to have the better version.

Split screen is pointless TBH.Well, for GeoW2, I used it for Co-Op. However, I beat that games multiple times, and I used Online CO-OP as well. It's a nice option for co-op when your buddies don't have a 360 or whatever.

You do realise that 16:9 means you cut 10% of the screen, rather than add 10% more width to a 16:10 screen right? Theres a reason why the "optimum" 16:9 resolution is 1920x1080 while the optimum 16:10 resolution is 1920x1200. You just destroyed 120 lines of pixels by going 16:9. 16:10 > 16:9 > 16:12[QUOTE="SolidTy"]

What about multiplayer games that aren't split-screen, such as sports games? And what about the ability to rib your buddy next to you after a play? Some kinds of multiplayer are best experienced offline for reasons of socialization.[QUOTE="HuusAsking"]

Actually, FIFA is easily one of my favourite franchises.Well unless you've been under a rock your entire life you might notice gamers kinda split into 2 groups, console gamers and pc gamers, it's just the way it is, I don't game on my pc, for numerous reason, even if I had the cash to make some super monster pc, I still would not, it's not how I game. You can keep your crappy always having to worry about system requirements, updating your hardware, installing, blah blah blah, I can come home, pop my new game in, and it's gonna work, Im not gonna have to install (well if you own a ps3, but I dont) worry about my system meeting any requirements, I'm just gonna play the game. No install conflicts, no oh it doesn't run on my os bs. So therefor, keep your pc gaming, I dont want it :PMuliplats are ALWAYS best on PC.

Sounds like terrible damage control tbh. Call it whatever you want, but pointing out that the PC is more powerful isn't going to make me any more interested in it. To be honest, I really regret my last couple PC upgrades - I'm just not having any fun with it, and even after forcing myself to pick up a few games on PC, I went back to the PS3.[QUOTE="lowe0"]Huh? We're not ignoring the PC because we don't know it's more powerful. We're ignoring the PC because we're not interested in it. anshul89
I've played quite a few multiplats on PC lately that are definately NOT the best offering. The most obvious being dead space.

I have my dedicated gaming pc hooked up to my 56in Plasma hdtv and i use a controller ....and it sure feels like a super duper, jacked up console to me. Now i can play games like Dirt 2 in real 1080p with all the graphic options i could NOT get with my 360.I guess part of being a hermit is completely ignoring everyone's posts? lets see, You have to worry about hardware compatibility you have to worry about software compatibility it cost more to pc game you have to upgrade your pc , where as my console has an 8 to 10 year life span on it, no worries when I get home from the store, I can play my game, not wait to install it, then figure out why the install failed Most people don't have their pc hooked up to their tv, so you have to play on a pc monitor, i'll take a big tv anyday again, my console is set up to my tv, I can have multiple people around playing games, weather it be split screen or just someone helping another finding collectables/solving puzzles PC misses out on alot of multiplats, consoles only miss out on a few games that are pc exclusive so theres some stuff off the top of my head, not that you'll bother reading it, your super pc just excludes it from your screen, I know :)I can't seem to grasp why someone would choose an inferior console over a kick ass PC. :| It boggles the mind! :P

In terms of graphics, I completely agree with you. Console graphics king DOES exist and is a fun debate.
However, in terms of gameplay, it's not even close to fact that the PC is better. It is complete opinion which is the best and anyone who says otherwise is a fanboy.
