Why are we surprised with the PS3 still?

It seems like the PS3 has been doing the exact opposite of what everyone expects. Lets look at the list of things that went wrong leading up to the PS3 release.

manufacturing problems, lack of must haves, no rumble, wierd controler, then same old controller, rip-off Wii controls 2 weeks after Wii-mote news break, amazing trailers for motorstorm and Killzone were not gameplay as once said, Online still not up to par, and insane price. And on top of all of it, Sony being their most arrogant ever and extreme hyping to the point the PS3 could not live up to.

After owning 70% of the market, these faults surely took their tole on Sony's strong lead in the game industry. People's hopes have slowly begun to fade.

Now everyone is so surprised that some of the most hyped games for PS3 are starting to become not-so-hyped because of early scores. I mean, how much does Sony need to show us to still be surprised at what is happening. I tell you, I'd be surprised if Sony actually did good this holiday season.

I hope they prove me wrong.

What have you seen that makes you think the PS3 will become the best selling console? No way the PS3 will outsell the Wii. It may catch the 360 but I think the 360 will have higher sales in North America.

i dunno. i think the problems with the 3t60 hardware will stop it from getting major sales in 2008 (even though it has warranty which is great that ms did that i think, mine hasn't broke once).

i think people will still want ff and mgs and gt.

and i don't think wii will sell as well in 2 years time. blu-ray will probably succeed too.

ms made the best console and it's unfair it's being outsold by wii.

I hope so too, but after a while you lose hope and move on. Now, the only reason I would buy PS3 is if I was buying a Blu Ray player and for MGS4. Other than that, Sony, sorry......FLamezero991

The problems with the 360's hardware will be fixed with the new chipset right? (Someone let me know if that is not true) With the release of Halo 3 and the recent price drops hardware sales will increase this holiday season. The Wii has amazing appeal everyone wants one, it is not just a fad that will die out.

i know i am just saying the ps3 isnt really a viable option as just a next gen movie device unless you like spending hundreds of dollars more and gaining just a little...
