Why can't nintendo have voice acting in games like Zelda ?

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption had voice acting. Samus, like always, stayed silent.

...Except for the time in Metroid Fusion when she talked to herself...

He did great work on Ichigo and Nero (even though his attitude is miles apart from Link's :P). I don't watch Trigun but I heard good things about Vash. GET HIM ONBOARD NAO.

Ah, Wendee Lee. My memory of Cowboy Bebop isn't that great but the voice actors were alright as far as I can remember. There's just one particular dub of her's that I'm not very fond of...:x

I think the other characters should have voice actors but hardcore fans like me think no actor could do Link justice. Toriko42

I can read faster then the voice actors can talk. I like to just know what I'm doing and get it over with. Voice acting is always stupidly dramatic in serious games.

Dieing character: "I'm dieing, ugh... it hurts... *is dead*."

Not dieing character: "NOOOO!!!" "I MUST SEEK REVENGE!!!!!uh!!"

However, if the game is comical I can stand it.

But voice actors cost money!! And Nintendo can't spend more than whats required on anything! Besides, I think Metroid Prime 3 showed they don't know what quality voice actors are.vashkey

With the N64 it was because of hardware limitations. Ocarina had lots of dialog, putting high quality voice acting of that amount in the game woul not have fit on a cartridge.

Since the change to optical discs though, I guess it has been a design choice (look at Zelda, even today lots of Zelda fans don't want voice acting.) Zelda is one of my favorite franchises ever, and I wouldn't mind seeing voice acting put in (for everyone but Link, having Link talk would be like having Freeman talk. He doesn't talk at all as it is, so hopefully they don't go overbaord with voices if they do decide to implement them.) But, if they didn't put it in, I wouldn't mind that either.
