Why did GG remove this from KZ3 muliplayer?

The slide to cover system?

I for one think K3's game/gunplay is unmatched for a FPS. One main reason i think it is above other FPS is the slide system you can do, yet for MP this is removed.

I would have loved to have this in MP to quickly slide to and behind cover..when in the line of fire! It's very helpful and adds so much to the satisfaction of gameplay, IMO.

for the same reason that cover was removed from killzone 2 and 3.

more importantly, guerilla messed up MP perfection with killzone 3, killzone 2 had it down pat and they ruined it with killzone 3 :cry:

okay killzone 3 multi is still a decent/good offering, but still, far from killzone 2 multiplayer.

the campaign on the other hand :shock:

I guess they would figuer it would be abused and cause balancing issues. Doesint bug me though since KZ3 mp is great and to me is better then KZ2 mp.

Damn they moved the sliding :P, i really enjoyed the sliding and i used it a lot to dodge some helghast bullets in the campaign and do the brutal melee :P.

Dunno, I assume they tested it and decided it was better not part of the MP experience so they took it out. What I don't understand is why they made it so tacticians couldn't lay tactical spawn points and instead can only capture designated spawn points on each map. That move still confuses and frustrates me.

slide to cover probably sounds good in hindsight.....but once the MP and cheap tactics come into play. you might think differently

It's kind of like the jump-to-prone in BLOPS.

It's fun when you know how to use it.

Basinboy

The lack of many spawn pts is what truly frustrates me.

I hate playing just tacticisn to keep contol of that "1" key spawn area because no one else will.:cry:

I miss my spawn nades

I dont miss grenades at all. The outcome I saw was always the same. One big cluster of grenade and rocket spaming on that spot.

No, but the slide mechanic was in the beta. I hadn't even realized they removed it until very recently, though. They probably found it to be unnecessary.

It was never a part of the MP in KZ2 so they didn't actually remove it from KZ3.

T'was in the public one. I wasn't in the closed beta, so I don't know if it appeared there as well.

they could have kept the slide from the SP...i can understand the cover system, but the slide can't really be that abused..since it's short in length and not that fast. Think gears...it can be done. Hate it because it's so much fun sliding behind cover, etc. Oh well!

No, I'm sure. It's not the kind of thing you do accidentally, so if you didn't know it was there you may just have never seen it. I knew about it and did it a few times for fun, but it didn't have much place in the game. That's why they probably took it out.

Also, since it wasn't something I used after the first few matches, it's possible they patched out during the public beta and I am unaware of it.
