@hrt_rulz01: that would make sense, consoles are usually sold at a lose anyway, it would make more sense to focus on game sales and subscriptions.

So for why I think it might hurt sales is because there's people like me who don't care about the console war and only playing games. I've got a decent PC so for me I'm only going to buy a ps5 because of the exclusives, without Xbox exclusives I don't have a reason to purchase one. I can play them all on my PC. Sony ever stops making exclusives I wouldn't buy there console either.

Oh you have a PC too... that's fair enough then (you didn't mention that in the first post). Yeah in that case, PS5 would be the better option of course.

That's the thing, I don't think MS cares whether people buy their games on Xbox or PC. MS isn't measuring their success on console sales anymore like Sony is, it's all about subscriptions and software sales.

And out of curiosity, why would MS putting their games on PC as well be the reason to go with Sony next gen? What difference does it make if they release it on PC too? Seems like a strange reason to me (not that I give a sh*t, just curious why it would matter).

Dude you can't be serious the only reason why MS isn't measuring console sales (i know they do they just don't say the numbers) is because their numbers are pretty bad,if the xbox was selling close to the PS4 i am sure the numbers would be known.

Using xbox live users when PC account and free 360 accounts still pad xbox live numbers is a joke.

They have like 40 million xbox one sold and more than 50 million xbox live account is very clear the huge padding xbox live gold penetration inside the xbox was basically just a tad under 50%.

Yes, I get your point (if the sales were higher, they'd probably be reporting them)... but having said that, you only have to look at some of the moves they've made this gen to see that selling the most consoles isn't their main priority. If it were, they wouldn't be putting their 1st party games on PC for starters (or Switch for that matter it seems). And also, if console sales were their no.1 priority, the first thing they would've done when they bought Mojang is made Minecraft an Xbox exclusive. That would've translated to a big boost in sales. But they didn't... because software sales are more important to them.

Just looking at the evidence :)

All MS have to do is push the 4k at 60fps+ for all games and they will instantly beat the 8k statement from Sony.

Tag line of listening to the gamers, for the gamers 4k 60fps minimum guaranteed or something like would be very funny.

Actually that is a stupid strategy, you haven't been paying attention to what MS has been doing and why they try so hard to push the whole true 4k crap on 2016 over the Pro checkerboard even to the point of claiming the Pro wasn't competition for the xbox one X but to the xbox one S as implying that checkerboard is the same as scaling in the xbox one S which is not.

People will not care for 4k 60FPS when they see 8k,even if they don't own a damn 8k TV,is the notion that the machine can and believe me it will spread like wild fire,so i am sure MS will say 8k as well and who knows if 16k just for fun.

"4k crap" proves my point precisely.

Both Sony and Microsoft have lied about resolution this generation. Let Sony continue to lie about 8k, they will look stupid when they cant delivery it. Talk about something that both gamers want (decent fps) and a resolution they can deliver in every game.

Either fps is important or its not make your bloody mind up.

8k is years off being mainstream. next next gen consoles will be announced before then.

RTX 2080 TI can't deliver 4K 60 hz in every game.

Hollywood's 4K definition is with pixel reconstruction and pixel compression i.e. hint h.265 lossy compression/decompression.

Motion compensation = interpolation

You then have NVIDIA promoting DLSS which is fvking pixel interpolation or compressed pixel bullsh*t.

https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/bhabap/well_here_we_go/

So as we all know, the PS5 was "announced" last week. Since then there's been wild speculation on Reddit, Resetera, EuroGamer etc about the power of Sony's Next Generation Console.

Well, a close friend of mine was at a Sony meeting due to the nature of his work.

The meeting took place the day after the PS5 article went up. He's sent me some details about what was mentioned at this meeting and has given me the greenlight to say some things that were mentioned:

8 core Zen 2, clocked at 3.2Ghz.

Custom Navi GPU, 56CU, 1.8Ghz, 12.9TF. RT is hardware based, co engineered by AMD and Sony. (They believe the RT hardware is the basis for the rumour that Navi was built for Sony)

24GB RAM (Type or bandwidth wasn't mentioned)

Custom embeded Solid State solution paired with HDD.

No mention of PSVR 2. At all.

PS4 native backwards compatibility, Boost mode being worked on. No mention of enhanced titles. PS3 BC will stay as part of PS Now for the foreseeable future.

It may not as powerful as some think, Sony say they want a balanced machine that's powerful with limited potential for bottlenecks. My friend also said Sony as of recently wants to position itself as a premium brand and this will be the messaging focus.

That's all I can share and all I know. I'm just a messenger and this is a throwaway account though so I won't be answering questions.

Here is a sneak pic of the Event room: https://imgur.com/jUiU3qc

It's effectively Sony's Steambox PC.
