of my stand point as a 360 owner
i love the controller for every game it feels right the ps3 controller makes my hands feel to close together
RROD i got a 3 year warrenty i sent it in free and get it back and the warrenty restarts
i like the games.i enjoyed xbl when halo2 was the coolest game on the block i knew my choice from the get go
i like what online has to offer with dlc demos and videos netflix (both systems have) etc
though im all around gamer and i dont get bought in by exclusives but gears of war takes the cake as a 3rd person shooter it's so smooth and violent blood omg orgamsic!.
ps3 i see nothing but exclusives or they are taking ours (ninja gaiden castle crashers etc).though the games are fun just not bought in by the exclusives like batman AA the ps3 was the only one with the joker cmon....though for psn for what it's worth the ps1 games seem to be the only redeeming thing since with the upgrade(lawl wut?) they downgraded.
but in the end it's all opinion they both run on 1080p so thats the same graphical power so what system you love the choice is yours
america=ms
japan=sony

... Ninja Gaiden was Nintendo's first.... Give us back Grand Theft Auto.... How can you see nothing but exclusives? If PS3 had nothing but exclusives then Xbox would have nothing but exclusives unless they are only putting the same game out on Xbox and Wii?!....Xbox is an upscale from 720p to 1080p, PS3 is the only one with true 1080P
one true 1080p?(lololol?) and nintedo took gta long before ms did.and let me count the exclusives for ps3.god of war uncharted killzone resistance twisted metal.metal gear solid4 little big planet.demon soulsgidenthe list goes on.and the move looks like a wiimote. and what exclusives did 360 have? hmm off the top of my head halo and gears of war and.....oh wait the rest were stolen......I wasn't talking about nintendo you said we stole ninja gaiden from you so i said give me back GTA. Oh and you might want to look at who has the most exclusives.

So your only argument is that PS3's had more exclusives that people enjoyed playing then xbox's exclusives?

People are not really explaining why it lost North America. A lot of the answers seem to be "it came out first", "it was expensive" and "the online is better" but that is the same for Europe and still the PS3 continues to outsell the 360 there.
Seiki_sands
Console gaming in general including games is even more expensive in Europe and if your going to pay an outrageous price anyways you go with the brand you know.
Which brings up another point. MS has sold 2x as many 360s as original XBs in America, but its sold 3x as many 360 as original XBs in Europe. How fast do you expect them to grow in an established market where they've had a weak presence in the past.
If anything Europeans and Japanese are changing their minds toward MS at a faster rate than the Americans, who were already growing fans of MS late last generation.
Eh ... I'd take Japan out of that equation.

MS sold 3x as many 360s as original XBs in Japan as well, which is why I mentioned them.So like Europe their growth in Japan by percentage has been greater than their growth in America. True, it says more about how non-existant they were in Japan last generation, but they've gone from Nil (.5 million actually) to having a niche identity as a hardcore console with 1.5 million in sales, which at least gives them something to build off if they choose to continue trying to break into the market.
Until a year and a half, maybe two years ago when it really caught fire, the PS3 was outselling the 360 in Japan 4-5 to 1, which sounds devastating, but when we remember the PS2 outsold the XB there more than 40 to 1, the perspective changes.
1) MSRP
2) Multi-plats; big titles that were once PS-exclusive such as GTA and Final Fantasy became available to the X360.
America has not ignored the PS3. Lots of people own them, it's just the 360 came out first, had better games, and was more reasonably priced. Sony shot themselves in the foot trying to sell a home console for $600. It didn't work well for the NEO GEO, and it sure didn't work well for Sony. I guess most people didn't want to get two jobs just to play on the PS3.
Sadly no one thinks threw when buying there consoles they just go for what came out first and cheaper. Say you bought your xbox when it came out in Nov 2005 or hell say you bought it when PS3 came out in Nov 2006. You looked at the two and saw that xbox was cheaper but had to pay for online but PS3 is more expensive and has free online. The Xbox cost $299.99 without a hard drive or $399.99 with a 20 Gb hard drive. Now the PS3 was $499 with a 20 Gb hard drive at this time. Now lets say you bought a Xbox with out a hard drive and i bought a PS3. Ohkay well now you don't have a hard drive so i don't know the price they were back then but i'm pretty sure they weren't any cheaper then $50 for a Xbox hard drive. Now you have played your xbox to this day with LIVE. I'm gonna say 1 year of xbox would be around $40 since sometimes we would buy it at cheap and other times at full price. Now it's 5 years later and you are having fun pwning newbs on COD or GW3 and i'm having a good old time playing some COD and some Uncharted. I paid $499 for my system, hard drive, and to play online. You paid $550 for your system, hard drive, and ability to play online. PS3 was cheaper in the long run not to mention for some of those dedicated xbox people out there that had to buy a new xbox because theirs RROD on them. I know some people never had there xbox red ring on them but I know a large amount of people have, I would know i use to fix them for everyone.

Or, just maybe, people did think things through and decided that they could live without online and more hard drives, in which case the 360 was a much better deal. You do realize that accessories are completely optional, don't you?

eh im ganna let this slide point is im happy as a ps3 owner im happyer as a 360 owner and i stated what i liked.i mean not system war,hateThe PS3 is gaining some ground here in America due to the $50 price cut, but the reason why the 360 is doing well is because it came out a year early and was cheap. The reason why it's stomping over the competition during the NDP sales is because..... well the 360 is just mainstream. For example, the 360 is a mainstream console that people know and would love to pick up, just like music, but it sounds and plays horrible or just doesn't deserve all the attention while the PS3 is like the "underground" type of console that plays real games with all of its exclusives which sort of ties it with music of how underground is the best music out there. Just my 2 cents.
