don't get me wrong, shooters are great. but i think its nice to have some variety. i just seems 360 fans do not feel the same way, just look at alan wake something a bit different but it just didn't sell. Where as Heavy rain on the PS3 was a great success.

its something to think about

Only reason I haven't got Alan Wake yet is because I have too many other games to finish first. Also, Heavy Rain was hyped a lot longer and a lot harder.

Of course there's other games on the 360, but what sells the most on the 360? Shooters, Halo, COD, Boderlands, etc... that's why people say that and that's why they designed their controller they way they did is to simply support the more focused area of their choice and that's shooters. So the question is who is embarassing who?

360 is tailored more to the Western audience I suppose, which tend to like shooters. It's also probably because we have Halo.

Edit: The highest selling game on the PS3 is an FPS - MW2.

Shooters are the best genre overall. Most fun, biggest action, most interactivity, best gameplay. It is the best genre.

nothing wrong with that, thats why if you are a fan of shooters you should get a 360. If there was a console that sold ALOT of RPGs I would buy that in a second

Even if they are obssessed with FPS, Im pretty sure those are not the only genres they play. I have about 28 games for 360 and 7 of them are shooters.

Didn't you hear the news? Shooters are bad. How dare you have fun with them. You're the kind of person ruining gaming with your "I like games that are fun" attitude. Acting like you can just like any game thats fun. Pfft. You should know all games require deep philosophical messages and awkward controls, for realism.

Please, anyone that picked RAAM over Sephiroth made the right choice.

Sephiroth stabs a praying woman in the back.

RAAM stabs a buff soldier. In the middle of a battlefield. In the open. With bullets going past.

I love FPS. I also love fighters, TPS, RPG, action, adventure, action adventure, horror, sports, puzzle... Hell, every genre excluding racing/flying sims, and there are more than enough titles in each on the 360.

Games like Forza, Braid, Oblivion and SF4 have done well on the X360, so while shooters are clearly the favorite genre of X360 fans, its not like they ignore games where one doesn't shoot things. Alan Wake's sales could just mean that Alan Wake failed to connect with many gamers.

BecAuse they like. Doesn't matter what genre. You have a specific biased against the FPS that's why you don't understand why it's so popular. A pop music fan may hate country music and not understand why they are so popular. A country music may hate modern pop music and not understand why they are so popular. Either way they are both ignorant because they think the world should share their perspective, and everything else is wrong.

That's a stupid answer. I can make generalizations too llike why PS3 owners like JRPGs so much? Why is Europe so into FIFA games? Why is Japan so Zenophobic towards foreign products? PC also like shooters as well. Where is the criticism there?

Stop please your killing me... I've played xbox for a few years now... oh god the squeeks are comparable to a pet store.... PS3 has nowhere near as many squeeks.

don't get me wrong, shooters are great. but i think its nice to have some variety. i just seems 360 fans do not feel the same way, just look at alan wake something a bit different but it just didn't sell. Where as Heavy rain on the PS3 was a great success.

If alan wake was multiplat it would sell on ps3 more because ps3 aims for all ages and all kind of games like jrpg, platformer.......etc. while the 360 only has shooters because most of them are 12 year olds.

Because the controller and online system are so great for shooters. But Sports are by far the most common genre on the platform, despite the myth that shooters dominate.

Before the 360 came out, I knew about Alan Wake, it was in development a LONG, LONG time.

Shooters are good. But over a saturated market nonetheless. However. There is variety. The ps3 gets praised for its variety, but for all the "different games" most are not very good. Why do ps3 fans like jrpg's so much? Also i thought Heavy Rain only sold around 2 million. Success by who's standards?

yep nothing on 360 except shooters yep sure nuff that's all....

quit embarassing yourself.

Of course there's other games on the 360, but what sells the most on the 360? Shooters, Halo, COD, Boderlands, etc... that's why people say that and that's why they designed their controller they way they did is to simply support the more focused area of their choice and that's shooters. So the question is who is embarassing who?

kz2, R1&2, uncharted 1 & 2, cod, borderlands, ect... lulz...

shooterbox topics were a joke here in 2006, in 2010 it goes beyond a joke into places you are not even allowed to call people out on without getting modded for.

Oooook, but your missing the point that 360 caters to more shooters then PS3. Of course PS3 is gonna have some shooters but by comparison who has the most? and sells the most?,...don't kid yourself.

Hard to argue with that kind of solid evidence.
