It's not on their system of choice.
It's generic even though Call of Duty gets a free pass.
IMO, Halo 2 and Halo 3 could have had better missions in their campaigns, in fact, some were downright trash.
Halo 2 and 3 are shorter than the 1st.
It's has too much color.
No bots.
Reused graphics engines after 2.
ODST is overpriced.
Halo Wars shouldn't be canon.
I can go all day buddy...
because it is a mediocre game that is praised as being the savoir and messiah of all games to date. People that have any XBOX like to brag about the game, even though I dont see the reward of owning it.
Reasons to not like it: aim assist, bad story, weak SP, very simple compared to other shooters
Reasons to hate it: Its a MS series

Sales doesn't always equal quality my friend.;)[QUOTE="ThatGuyFromB4"]or it could be because of the content? just because you like something doesn't mean everyone willThere's a difference between being indifferent towards something and hating on it. Halo receives so much hate because it's so popular. People love to hate what's popular. Especially on the Internet. The same reason so many people hate Avatar. It's popular.

Halo receives so much hate because it's so popular. People love to hate what's popular. Especially on the Internet. no, it's just that when some love it, and some hate it, the guys that praise it will provoke the haters to discuss just like ME2, every time I see it praised I go into auto-irritated mode because the game disappointed meThe more attention paid to a particular thing, the more people will have an opinion about it. If Halo was a lesser known title, you'd have less people talking about it. It seems like a lot of people hate Halo, but I think it's in tune with the amount of people that actually are aware of it.

Just like you have a lot of people that like Halo, you are going to see a lot of people that do not like Halo. Some like the gunplay, some do not. Some like the campaign, others do not care for it.
Every game in existence is going to be liked and disliked, whether it is popular or not.
Because if its popular, it must mean it's bad.Skittles_McGee
[QUOTE="Skittles_McGee"][QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]Would any of that justify *hate* though? Hatred for a video game seems illogical. i doubt anyone that matters is using the word hate in the way you're sayingI'd like to think that.
Or it could be a general dislike of the monotony, one-dimensional characters, clichéd and largely plagiarized plot/game world, floaty controls and game design in general.Jandurin
I dont like the game, but I dont go out of my why to hate on the game. COD games get much more hate than any halo game imo.

I know people who instantly decided they didn't like Avatar without even seeing it, just because of all the hype and money it was making. Same concept here.
I don't hate it, but I do think it is overrated (the first at least). I found the original so painfully repetitive that I just couldn't will myself to finish it, either on the xbox or the pc (tried it on both and got to about the same spot each time).I've never played any of the Halo games, but I wanted to know why some people hated it some people hated it so much.

I was only referring to hate though, not dislike. Though true there's likely not many people that actually hate it, per se, the fact such people exist at all is a bit troubling.Skittles_McGee
Birds Fly, Fish Swim, and Haters gonna Hate son. It's a great game, that just happens to be popular that isn't for EVERY GAMER. The close minded can't accept that it is a quality series that just happens to be popular. It's one thing to not like the game because it doesn't appeal to you. It's another thing to cry, moan, complain to the high heavens about a game you don't like. It's equally as annoying as being a fanboy of a game, except it's the opposite. You a hater.
[QUOTE="ThatGuyFromB4"]that's BS. Who said that?Just people I know in IRL. Too much hype gets to some people. Turns them off. That's just how some people are.I know people who instantly decided they didn't like Avatar without even seeing it, just because of all the hype and money it was making.

that's BS. Who said that?Just people I know in IRL. Too much hype gets to some people. Turns them off. That's just how some people are. I do not respect these people. I've never met anyone in my life who would get "turned off" because too many people liked something. But I'm not talking about people that dislike the game nor do I label such people as "haters" so why is this being directed at me :?Skittles_McGee
