They see the potential in the platform Heil68

Yep same reason I bought one. PS3 should last a few more years than the 360, and definately last longer than the Wii.

also may be some of the reasons below:

. Good relations with Sony i.e. many developers in Japan.

. Some developers already make games for X360, PC so why not just port it to PS3?

. Reliability

Weren't you once a cow?

Anyways, I think the reasons they are still bothering with Sony are as follows: $$$ from Sony for exclusivity and hopes that exclusivity will create more hype, hopefully creating more sales.

Ay, I was surprised by the user name. In all seriousness, though, I think that developers see the PS3's future potential, and can bank on that possible success.

Reliability? Of the Hardware?

:|

How does that affect developers exactly?

The 360's architecture / programming toolset is 10x as "reliable" as the ps3's at the moment. You know...stuff that actually matters to devs :P

that's the problem, games aren't easy to port to the ps3. in fact it's said to be very damn hard to do it. like making a whole new game specially for the ps3. in the end all the extra work doesn't seem worth it. the ps3 is to hard to program for, they shot themselves inthe foot thinking everyone would just choose to work on their system and avoid making a profit by goin multiplat with a great game.

I was thinking in terms of that hardware reliability means future potential. That in turn may attract more customers.

That in turn explains less games and large delays.

and no they didnt penetrate nintendos lock on the handheld market gba sold over 85 million units and still is goin strong and ds sold over 30-50 million units and continues to out sell everything else taking the wii with it , sony was all luck 2 gens ,, i really cant say what the best ps game is because most never can out perform goldeneye 007 ,,, or perfect dark in fact goldeneye was top seller through out the generation , winning 1998 and 1999 game of the year awards

as for handhelds psp has done its best to try to penetrate nintendo but all those rehashes and ports doesnt help sony at all sony needs a steady stream of titles to catch ds off guard which wont happen any time soon

this gen im sticking with the best of the best the company that knows gaming and has been since nes ,,, /gb nintendo my side console will be the xbox 360 .... then ya know the ps3 ,,, nintendo may have made a few mistakes with the gc /64 but they brought us 5 big titles alltogether with other killer aps to .. they are

1997- goldeneye 007

1998-zelda ocrina of time

2000 perfect dark 64

2003 zelda wind waker nintendo gamecube

2004 resident evil 4 the original and 2nd best now to the wii nintendo gamecube version

other good titles in between include n64/gc

super smash bros

doom64

duke nukem 64

zelda majoras mask

turok

marioparty 1

mariokart 64

conker bfd

and on the gamecube

eternal darkness

fzero gx

mariokart dd

marioparty 7

geist

metroid prime

lol you thought ps3 would do better then ps2 pft you already failed since day one ,,, igns done 2 graphical comparisions since launch and the xbox360 won both ,,, and in the sales race we know whos outselling who both in the handheld race and in the console race nintendo wil be the undisputed winner as they always changed everything from controllers to gameplay even 3d graphics ,,, what has sony done oh ya thats right absolutly nothing just flop in a new graphics card and a internet service psn what do you get ps1 with a few notable updates none to major

mariokart64fan

If you want to go back to the PS and N64 days then Nintendo lost Sony ran the floor with them.
