Why do people care about PS3 or 360 sales?

Actually I just read the Alan Wake Prequal article and nowhere did it state that it will require Kinect, and I don't go by rumors.

I think the chaos happens because of the element of surprise that reviews have. Sales are far less surprising, they've followed a more or less constant pattern for years.

Alan Wake: Night Springs has no official release date but it should be late 2011/early 2012. And it's actually a stand-alone game on XBLA. If it sells well Alan Wake 2 might be a reality.

Oh, you're asking me? I prefer sales threads. Discussing about the few games the PS3 and 360 don't share (and the even fewer that would actually make somebody get one over the other) it's not a topic I'm too interested these days.

Not that thread sales have been too interesting lately (at least between the 360 and PS3, the 3DS ones are more fun).

Because sales are the one true thing that matters they are the measuring stick by which all of us works.

Developers, Publishers, System makers, The users...We can talk about Scores all we want but the world at large and people look at sales as the mark of success. On a professional and personal level.
