1)I've been trying to figure this one out for a while. Bill Gates masterminded a revolutionary OS. So revolutionary that 95% of people reading this will have bought a copy.
2) For this reason he is rich but to his credit he donates more to charity than any other self made business man, particularly to childerns charities. During the awesome PS2 era microsoft brought out the xbox which provided at least some competition for Sony which is always a good thing.
3) Whether you like the new PS or the 360 why hate a company that has stopped the console market from becoming stagnant and offers, more than any company, some of their wealth to those less fortunate? Are people just jealous?Do people just irrationally believe that Microsofts' success must be the product of some evil doing? If you have all the relevant information its pretty hard to distinguish the practices of a firm like MS from any other.

1)Microsoft monopolized the PC market and now are forcing developers to use DirectX 10 and support games for Vista only like Crysis with their Games for Windows bullcrap. Also the fact that Windows in itself is a garbage OS with poor security. Everyone seems to think Windows is prone to viruses and spywarebecausepeople hate Microsoft and while that is partly true, Windows is vulnerable because the kernel and the registry which are the biggest parts of the OS have such linear coding that they are easy to hack into using even the most basic programs in the form of the various viruses, spyware and malware. Once a program gets installed on your computer, the information gets sent right to the registry and when it gets hacked, you are screwed. Again, Windows is a joke and Vista is the biggest mistake since America elected George Bush for a second term as president.
I find it funny how people try to defend Windows, you are all aware that Bill Gates wrote Windowsusing DOS right? Instead of doing it from scratch like all the other OS developers did at the time. A lot of computer people were pissed off at the time because instead of doing things honestly, he took the easy route and cheated. At least that is what I understand of that whole fiasco.
2) Yeah what competition? The Xbox was rediculously expensive when it came out (at 400 dollars or so here), yet the technology was inferior to PC's of the time and game support was pretty much non existant. I would not say that 22 million is exactly successful compared to previous console generations sales figures for the N64 and PS1 which were better. And with only 11 million units sold since launch almost 2 years ago, the 360 is not exactly doing so hot especially considering it has more exclusives right now then the PS3 and is being beaten by a console that is equal to their first attempt at gaming in terms of power.
3) Why would anyone be jealous of Microsoft? Anyone with half a brain knows how much they are ruining everything they touch by putting a monopoly on things. Forcing Windows on people instead of having the option, restricting audio and video codecs on their mp3 players and forcing gamers to have to pay for peer to peer online play are just a few examples of how they have ruined the electronics industry with their horrible products.
