why do ppl support the wii?

I just don't understand it's just a gamecude with a diff controller they have given us the same great games. But besides that nothing sure glaxy,zelda etc. but after you beat those games there nothing to do (and it dosen't take longer than a week)

The online is terrible most games don't even have online and yes ssbb dose but it's horrible also no voice chat and friend codes that are 25 characters long

all they have given us is more of the same poor graphics (yes i noe ssbb looks great but any cartoon type looking game can look great not that hard there 's no games where ppl actually look good) poor online, great gameplay but same exact game with same story for 20 years *cough* mario *cough* so my question is why do so many ppl support a system that doesn't really offer anything?

It's not a Game Cube. It is deffinately more powerful than the GC was. The controller gives some cool new gameplay features that weren't there before, either.

Granted, the online is terrible, but that's about the only problem with it.

There's enough great games to play that it's an easy purchase.

coz its cool to say "i have a wii" .... seriously i dont know why people support wii, SMG, SSBB, Metroid Prime 3 and 1 or 2 other games...those are the only reasons someone would like wii...other then that i have no idea

ask the millions of people that keep buying the console. if it was such a POS the stores wouldn't keep running out. word of mouth travels fast. and the casual gamers love the idea that almost ANYone can pick up a wii mote and play Wii sports without much of any experience.

I have played a few wii games and i find it a fun little console. Definately only worth $250, so yeah i have not bought one yet. but just for a change of pace it's a console worth owning. and yeah it probably does have slightly upgraded gamecube graphics, but the controls are pretty nice and it has online and virtual console.

bottom line, the Wii is a good 3rd console. If you have a 360 and a ps3, why not get a wii too? when you're too tired to concentrate, you pop in a wii game and just have some fun trying to get a better bowling score.

VC games are just that, games, and old ones. Also, being that i own a PC, I can play 99% of everything on VC right now for free if I wanted. So again, whats the point?

Ever thought that people had different tastes in games? You can't just label an entire library as "fun games." I can't find games like SMG, SSBB, MP3 and BWII on any other console, or even on the PC.

He did not ask "Why do you think Wii is better than other consoles?" He asked "Why do people support the Wii?"

And really, why does anybody play video games in the first place? To have fun.

You are making the assumption that everyone will like a game like Bioshock better than a game like SMG, which is a bunch of bull. You do realize that different people like different games and different genres, correct? You can't compare any two games and objectively tell people that they are equally fun, because fun is subjective.

Are you serious? Maybe your idea of a good story is severely undeveloped, but of all the games you mentioned that have been released, none offer both.

Gears? Seriously? Great online, but if buff guys with guns is your idea of a good story, you need to read more books.

Mass Effect. Passable story, but what's this online you speak of?

COD 4. Great online experience, but once again, a sub par story.

I going to go with the "fun" defense, because well it is fun, that why I own one and that the very same reasons I own a PC, a 360, a DS, and soon a PS3. I like fun, Wii = fun, so I guess thats why I support it.
