This is old buddy, but I would think the same reason why we had to suffer from some of the other multiplats because of the slowass blu-ray disc.Ilived
that's a sorry attempt at DC :P

at least this other guy provided some links.. I would love to see a "games reduced in size or speed due to blu-ray" link from programmers. I'm not saying it's not out there, but you saying it don't make it true and makes it sound like a week attempt at DC.
If Im honest my thoughts are are don't care because I own a 360 not a PS3 :P this is just another example of something the PS2 did last gen because a lot of games were held back because it was so weak in comparison to GC and Xbox.SapSacPrime
It's not an issue of the 360 being too weak, it's an issue for storage because the DVD9 discs are starting to show its age.

I don't even know what a dc is, but I do remember few months ago that it was talked about here widely and mentioned many times. It's not a link, but I'm sure you were there during the time. Lots of threads being made with developer interviews complaining how slow the blu-ray drive is, etc.

3 DVDs for a shooter ?? just to get it to look on par with the PS3 version that's laughable

Why did you feel compelled to point that out? I said nothing to imply this is because the 360 is less powerful and I am fully aware of the restrictions of DVD9, I was merely pointing out that last generation the PS2 as market leader held a lot of multiplat games back (in its case due to lack of Vram).

Of course finding a blurry rock once in a while won't be too terrible for the 360 users.
NVM. Just indicates the game is MASSIVE.your source also says

DX = damage control. In other words, the other guy is saying somehow this shows PS3 is owning, but you are grasping at straws to prove it's wrong.
Too me this is just sour grapes from Sony. You have to preload quite a few games, just make up for the slow Blu ray read speeds, that is a fact. The multiplat devs should always think MS 1st because they sell more software on 360. Maybe Sony should worry more about marketing the PS3 and selling it instead of whining over why 3rd party devs prefer the 360...

Why do you feel so big by assuming I was so desperate to make it clear? I was just assuming you thought this game was being held back because of the hardware in the 360. Jeez, people are so freaking uptight in here it's ridiculous.

blurry rocks LMAO i seriously doubt they need 2 extra DVDs (around 16gb) just for detailed rocks

Well lets see, it comes from the devs mouth when asked if there will be any noticeable graphical differences. That is what he said and lets see, since he is making the game...I'm sure I can go with what he knows and not what a total fanboy thinks. It doesn't matter though, if you actually want to play the noticeably best version of the three, then you would go with the PC version.

That is very old. I would say, it's the same reason that the XBox had to suffer because of the PS2. All PS2 ports to the XBox were terrible because developers where to lazy to make the game from scratch and utilize the Xbox real powers and features. At least the only limit of the Xbox 360 is it's storage. I still don't understand while they can't use the HDD and just put on the box HDD required. Nintendo has done this in the past with their games with no problems. M$ should be able to do the same thing. Id Soft could easily us 1GB of 360 HDD memory for their RAGE software with no problems.
this thread fails cos the 360 DID not limit rage, heres the proof

Actually it fails because PS3 owners aren't suffering form MS, they are suffering from Sony and their constant bumbling...

the thing is the ps 3 out selling the 360 world wide so your agument is flaud. so you need a harddrive for the ps 3 to make up the slow disc speed. there is away around it. but if there is game that needs 3 or more dvd9 there is no way around that.you install a game then you delect it when done omg what a f&*&* nightmare.
now the 3rd party dev's want to make the ps 3 version first yhen port it to the 360 because it is easer that way so they will think of the ps 3 first not the 360. and of course the high attach rate for the 360 is only in the us. how come ea said they made more money on multiplats in 2008 on the ps 3 than the 360
BECAUSE THE US IS NOT THE WORLD.

There was NO CONTENT removed from RAGE because of the 360--NONE AT ALL. Moving from multiple wastelands into fewer but larger wastelands was a far better decision and is actually giving us more gameplay in the game.

I never saw a Doom 3 on PS2 !
your point?
Point is that they moved on leaving behind the PS2 in the old gen in terms of graphics. And they probably should do this with the 360.I wouldnt wanna play old gen titles on my PS3.

The whole world suffers because of MS an a daily basis. They only care aboutcrushingcompetition and not providing the best product.

lol, anyone who buys that is a Lem.
I was reading how after the this story hit they basically **** on themselves. Essentially you are slaming MS, something you dont' want to do. They want to retract everything they said but make NO DOUBT, the dev at the Austin gamer conference specifically said because of the X360 limited space issues, they decided to cut the game down to two areas. Now who are you going to believe, some PR spin or the actual dev talking at a conference?
It's obvious they changed things because of the X360. Now I bet one of the other factors to change things was time/money but don't for second believe there spin now.
[QUOTE="st1ka"][QUOTE="lesner87"]isntyour point that Xbox was getting left behind because of PS2 ?
lesner87
yes me too...
the xbox and to a certain point the PC yes, but i wasn't talking about doom 3 i was saying games in general
ah i get now what you mean, yes the xbox most likely held back Doom 3, but the thing is xbox 360 users aren't complaining about consoles holding back games, the PS3 users are, even though the PS2 was the bigger game holder-backer (not a real word) last gen
