Because its a 3rd party exclusive.
I dont care if the franchisecomes or not.

3rd party exclusive to what? its exclusive to EA yeah they own the franchise. not exclusive to any system
Yeah that was a typo. I was hoping my edit would get through before someone quoted it but i guess it didnt.I was just wondering. Also if you only own a ps3 do you want this franchise on the ps3.

Because people are also thinking Fable 2 and 3 will go to PC, AlanWake is a PS3 title too,Halo 3 will go to PC, Gears 2-3 will go to PC and PS3 and illusintions like that
See, when you buy a PS3 or PCfor the outrageous price, and you have nothing like those games on 360 which costs 199$, you start imagining things
[QUOTE="XboximusPrime"]They did C&C 4 for the PC. SW: The old republic and Battlefield 3 are apparently PC exclusives as well. C&C 4 is an RTS, you don't expect that to be on any console. SW: TOR, i though lucas art was the publisher not EA. Battlefield is in development, who knows, maybe might make it on the 360/ps3Bioware is owned by EA now. EA dont do exclusive games anymore really.

I feel that B3 will not come to the consoles, but that´s only me though,I´ve been wrong before.
You´re rigth about ToR,it´s going to be published by Lucas Arts. My bad
i would only want to play it on PS3 to see how it stacks up against teh 360 build. If its exactly the same, and its on one disc on PS3, I would honestly consider that the better version because of no disc swapping.

I'm pretty sure Bioware has a contractual agreement with Microsoft that the Mass Effect trilogy has to be PC and Xbox 360-only, regardless of EA being the publisher. Also, Microsoft has publishing rights for the first one. The series would be completely useless on the PS3 if all they got were 2 + 3.
.....because they can probably make a profit if they bring it to the PS3....that's if MS doesn't pay up to stop them of course.
ryetech
Microsoft already did pay Bioware up front for the trilogy. Microsoft was supposed to publish all 3 games, but Bioware got bought out by EA after the Xbox 360 version of Mass Effect 1 was released. The "exclusivity" contract slightly changed to EA being the publisher, but the series stays PC/Xbox 360. Microsoft just isn't getting as much $$$ from each copy sold because they aren't the publisher of 2 and 3.
It could be done, but since ME1 is a MS game and would never appear on the PS3, it would exclusively be ME2 and ME3. They would have to compensate by having an story introduction, where you are presented with a summary of the story in ME1 and furthermore being able to make moral choices along the summary, like Wrex and the council. Just to access all the in-game material and not just default Shepard.
There are alot of series where later installments have moved to different systems despite the previous versions not being present. In the end it's about money and most gamers wouldn't really care IMO. I personally don't think the Mass Effect Trilogy is coming to the PS3. Next generation if there are more games in the universe it'll most like be present on the next Sony system.without 1, why would you want 2 or 3? besides gloating fanboyish reasons of course

[QUOTE="CDUB316"]Because I don't have a gaming pc so xbox is my only tether to pc games. Since mass effect is one of the main reasons i haven't sold my xbox 360 yet for a ps3. I have a PS3 and I dont get why people want ME, I think the just want it for the onwage and the lulz RTUUMMMass effect 2 has the same metacritic score as uncharted 2. It is hailed as one of the best games this gen. You STILL DON'T KNOW why people WANT IT

greenballer
Because both EA and Bioware refuse to say "MASS EFFECT FRANCHISE WILL NEVER ARRIVE ON THE PS3".
If they would, I would never mention it again......but they won't. ;)
Because EA is a multiplat dev, and no one knows what the deal with MS was.
Since EAmakes multiplats, it is possible (if we ignore the deal since we don't know it), and, if its possible, it's probable.
And, if it's probable, it will happen. That's SW line of reasoning.
Personally, I think if EA/BioWare could/wanted to put ME on the PS3, they would have already done it long ago. It has been almost 3 years since ME was released.

Well, considering FF13 is ALREADY on 360 (unlike Mass Effect 1-2 that are NOT on PS3), i guess seeing FF13vs on 360 is 1000x more probable than ME3 on PS3

It sold quite well, but nowhere as good as the PS3 version. So it's a wait and see.

Dragon Age also sold quite a bit more on the 360 than it did on the PS3 so maybe Bioware/EA don't see the need for a ME port. Plus im sure MS is offering incentives to keep it off the PS3 (that is if there was no prior deal in place before EA aquired Bioware, which is entirely possible as its always been planned a trilogy)

1/4 of their profit came from 360, and a million+ sales is no small deal
the game was a poor rushed port too
Now why would they want to loose a million sales more ?
Now why would they want to loose a million sales more ?theseekarA lot of reasons. There's a chance what the 360 version sold was not enough to compensate the porting costs. There's also the possibility they have a deal with Sony for Versus XIII, and the posible sales for a 360 version do not justify breaking the deal. That's just two reasons at the top of my head, there could be more.

That's entirely possible and I believe that's the case. I'm shocked this thread stayed so civil and people actually brought up good points for a change:o

And if EA can do whatever they want with them, they'd make them available for the PS3. Something is apparently holding them back, and that's the contractual agreement behind closed doors that was originally supposed to be Microsoft publishing all 3 games. Bioware was once independent and publisher-less, having to go through Microsoft to get these games out the door. Once they got bought-out by EA, the contract had to change. For all we know, Microsoft would let EA publish the games in exchange for PC/Xbox 360 exclusivity. As long as they shy away sales from the PS3, that's the whole point.
