Why do you buy or upgrade your PC?

Tell why.

Mostly games. It's nice to have a good computer to use for some other stuff, but pretty much the only really intensive thing I do is gaming.

I do use it for CAD stuff when I have homework sometimes. If I wanted to be somewhat serious about it, I would need a workstation card though.

Honestly, only for games, while i work with computers, i don't need a super machine to be able to do my job properly.

Games and Video Editing/Encoding, two things where speed produces a better experience.

Games (of course!), work (I'm a programmer and sometimes I need to test databse design prototypes with lots of IO's), and finally other fun or have to do tasks that are computing intensive like picture editing, HD video editing and transcoding, ripping blu-rays and DVD's etc.

I do it because I enjoy it, it's just as much of a hobby to me as gaming itself. Most of the time I sell old components just to buy new ones even though I really have no reason to do so. I'm just that nerdy

There isnt one for "I'm a giant nerd, and I like upgrading my PC"

#1 reason is probably for my home graphics research. #2 would be games.

Both work and gaming so what should I pick?

the pc setup im using now is the first time i upgraded in 4 years. i did it because now gams that seem to be comin out on pc r less open to setting chnges so i needed better cpu and proccesser. so yes i upgraded it for da graphics

Because I like staying somewhat ahead of games and because it's my hobby. I even enjoy performing maintenance on my rig.

To play game like that "1920x1200, 60fps, 4xAA, 16xAF, max settings" instead of "1280x720, 30fps, 0-2xAA, 0xAF, medium settings".

Games, multmedia, work, 1000's of other little things.

I build a new PC when my current one is to old. But when I build, I build around gaming.

Games, keep up to date, it's fun to build.

For games. I like to always have the best (or close to it) graphics and also getting the best performance. If I am not able to get at least 50-55 FPS in a game, then I get a little agitated.

My life sucks and no one is interested in me.

So I like to tell people how big my specs are on the internet.

Because I'd go bonkers if I didn't get a new toy every now and again to tinker with.

Work for college and music mainly.

I upgrade for games or when I feel like it really as I enjoy putting new hardware in my PC gives me a tingling feeling :P

Because i want to max out all of my games.

there should be a "because i like to know the inner workings of a pc" option.

that is one of the main reasons i like doing it, i like upgrading.

and i also like to see the performance & visuals increase in games.

For games , and i leave it running all night because of the neon lights it lights up my room a little bit, i hate being in the dark i have a walk in closet in my bed room i always thing somekind of lycan or warewolf will jump out and tear me to peices. Thats why i just adopted a little kitty, he sleeps by my side when my girlfriend doesnt sleep over. God i hate leaving alone and those Underworld movies.
