To some gamers, other peoples money means more to them than actual games. I think we know the crowd. :cool:ispeakfact
For sure not the cows, their games don't sell well .

Well if you have no interest beyond the immediacy of your surroundings then why be interested in anything? Why watch the news, read books, learn new things, if ultimately like you say, you cannot change anything. Just be ignorant of everything.
I'm invested in the things that happen beyond just what I play because it impacts me. If a company is doing well or not so well, I might decide to do my part to support it by buying its products new, or not support them if I don't like their business practice. I can then witness if my decisions mean anything and if not at least I have the self satisfaction of contributing. Look at Ubisoft recently dropping its DRM. Enough people said no and something changed.
Games mean a little more to me than just throwaway entertainment so I am invested in the people, business and industry as a whole behind the games I play.

Well said, I feel the same...
For me gaming is also more than throwaway entertainment, so I like to be informed about industry and its state...

You want entertainment, but don't care about profits? You really don't know what fuels that entertainment? I care about this industry as a whole, and I hope it continues to grow. This includes the profits and developers getting paid.AmnesiaHaze

sony must be a paradox then when they can offer great entertainment despite their losses , and honestly that all i care forSony has many solid exclusive IPs on their hands, but none sticks too well, none ever reached the levels of popularity of say, Halo or Mario/Zelda...
The way I see it, Sony is desperately throwing ideas at a wall, and hoping something sticks and brings in a huge success, to help with the losses. In any case, don't expect for them to be able to keep up with that strategy forever, if they don't find that "killer app" soon, it'll cost them, a lot.
Note how they already had to shut down a few studios...
