I just wanted to know because after playing it I don't understand why people dislike it. And before someone says it I am not a fanboy I am just waiting until I get a job so I can own all 3 next gen consoles.

So the complaints about the wii are pretty much the amount of games available, how the graphics look and some or most of the games being mini games or games made for little kids.
I will agree about the amount of games availabe and the some wii games dont have the sharpest graphics but not all games are mini games and made for little kids but nintendo does have more types of those games than the ps3 and 360. I think we can all agree with that.
1. Kiddy games
2. Terrible controls (IMO)
3. Horrible 3rd party support
4. Original xbox graphics
5. Same rehashed games
6. No hd
7. Can't play dvd's
8. Lack of online
9. Friend codes
10. Nintendo disowned there hardcore gamers.
11. $250 for a gamecube
The Wii is ok for what it is , but I generally dislike Nintendo because they don't seem to be trying to give us new exciting epic IPs. Anything new seems to be casual games. They don't seem to really be taking online gaming all that seriously either. I know we will be able to play Mario Kart online in 2008 and we can buy expensive older VC games but is that enough ?
Just a question have all you people who say there are no good games and that the controls are bad have you ever got a chance to play the wii or are you just going buy what you have sawand hearddeznuts7
I can look at the games and tell that they are boring. Nothing on the wii interesting me.

I'm not impressed with the Wii's lineup for fall 2007. There are games that I'll probably rent like Super Mario Galaxy but there just aren't any games that I feel I must buy. Where as the Xbox 360 has 4 or 5 games coming out this year that I feel I must have.
I also don't like the direction Nintendo is taking the Wii. In my opinion they're betraying core gamers like me.
I bought the Wii on launch day, and I only use it about once a month. I am not a fanboy of any one system, I buy all of them. I am a Wii owner who had faith in the product and camped out to buy it. These are the reasons I am very disappointed with it, in order of their importance:
1. Not HD compatible. Graphics look last-gen compared to the other systems, and it doesn't take advantage of my expensive HD tv. And believe me, after what I paid for that thing I want to take full advantage. What on earth were they thinking? So it's in my bedroom, where my non-hd tv is. And I generally prefer to play games in my living room.
2. Limited game library. Where are all the great games??? Yeah, I loved Rayman Raving Rabbids and Trauma Center... but the great games are way few and far between. Without great games, a game console is an expensive paperweight!
3. The controller works great with some games, badly with others. It can also be aggravating to point the wii-mote at that receiver. I don't have a good place for the receiver so I end up having to hold the wii-mote up higher than is comfortable and it really detracts from my enjoyment of the game.
The Wii is all right for a backup system when your other system is being used by someone else, on a non-hd tv. But if you've got an HD tv in your living room the Wii graphics are painfully last-gen.

Maybe to you. Kidtendo doesn't have any games that interest me. They look like dog poo.

You can't stick the sensor bar on top of your TV?

He owns wii sports, RE4, and GodFatherand i played them all. The wii sucks and is really boring. When i go over to his place we either play a pc game or n64 but nneve waste ou time with the wii.

I have it on top of the tv, but the tv is sitting on a tall stand and it's a big tv, so the sensor bar is high. I wish it had better range so I wouldn't have to hold the wii mote up the height of my neck to play.
There isn't a good reason to dislike it. There are reasons to not buy it, but there's not really a reason to dislike it.

If you have to do that, you have the sensor bar set too far back from the front edge of the TV.
The top of my TV is about 5 1/2 feet off the ground and I can play it lying on the ground 4 feet in front of the screen.

You might not believe it has good games. That is a good reason not to buy it. That's the reason I don't buy a PS3 or a 360.
However, "good" is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer not to play the same way I've been playing for the past 10 years, while you prefer to stay the same. It's just a matter of preference, which makes it a good reason to not buy a system that you wouldn't enjoy, but it's not a good reason to dislike the system.

So you'd rather it not exsist because you don't find much intrest in the games?

Put it beside your TV then. Then go to options and press Sensor bar and pick "Under the TV".

Because it offers nothing but a fancy controller to me now, all the games feel like something I played 4-5 years ago but now with motion controls that are very rarely used well. Its not enough and doesn't make standard controllers redundant at all (which I expected it would).
I'd rather take true next-gen games on the 360 or PS3 that push the gaming experience forward. Delivering masterpieces like Oblivion, Mass Effect and Assasins Creed to name a few that flat out couldn't be done last-gen or on the Wii. Just like Resident Evil 4 for instance couldn't be done on the N64.
Its not getting any better either because I personally don't want the ''big 3/4'', I know they're hugely popular but I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. I used to love the thing, now its worn off and feels shallow.

Nintendo wouldn't be around if it weren't for people like me who bought and played their games/systems since way back then to now. They have abandoned the core consumer and instead made crap that your gran can play. So, yeah their games are good if you fall into the casual market who didn't give a damn 20 years ago. Nintendo throw the core market rehashes and create many new games for their casual market. Nintendo deserve to go the way of Sega now. Please Log In to post.
