Sorry guys, the thread was just begging for it =P

Giancar

Who's dumbass idea was this game?!

I think Miyamoto :?

Unfortunately, he doesn't actually direct games anymore, he only produces. He also, of course, contributes Ideas for gaming, like Pikmin. About 5 years ago, Miyamoto stressed that he has his whole life, tried to get his wife to play games. She won't do it. He has tried and tried to get here involved, but it hasn't happened. I think Wii Music is one of those endeavors. Doesn't make it any better of a game though.

Why would Sheep hate that Gif? It's just representing a segment of E3. They should be proud of the Wiimotes being used to waggle-riffically.

they hate the gif cause it represents the new ninty. It crushed their dreams of becoming once again a hardcore system

Remember ninty's E07? It was bad. But E08 was even worse. They had a lot of nightmares just watching this gif.

I have a lot of laughs though :D

apparentlyyou didn't read my post did you? Nintendo, as a company, is pimping out games like never before, yes they do take time to develop, but that is NOT nintendo's fault.

I, for one, am not mad at nintendo for anything (save the horrible(and i mean HORRIBLE) E3). If you actually tried to play Wii sports or Wii fit you would see that these new string of games are indeed fun and active, you would also see that these new string of games are delivered between the hardcore titles to soften the drought and widen the appeal.

take a look at nintendo's line up for the Wii so far, it's almost a perfect match between casual and hardcore. People just don't want to see that because nintendo, as expected is now focused on MARKETING the casual gaming to get their cash. NOT the casual games themselves (at least not more than the hardcore games.)

I suspect many of you are in for a huge surprise with Wii Music. It will be a huge hit, not because of who made it, but because of what it does.

Unlike the other rhythm games, where the challenge is to mimic the pattern created by the designer i.e. beat the game, here you are free to create your own interpretation of the music in the way you "play" it. So if you want to play the Mario Theme as cool laid back jazz, you can. Or hip hop, or trance, or country or even thrash metal.

And you can do that with friends. I imagine, since I have not played it, that when you are all playing together in thematic sync, it will sound great (something that didn't happen on stage at E3, as I suspect most of the execs had not had much time with it), and you will feel great.

Ever sung with friends down the pub and really enjoyed it? Well this is trying to give you the same feeling but with music. Normally it would take years to get technically competent to do this, but Nintendo appear to be trying to give people the experience of really playing music, which may well inspire more of us to go and learn to play for real.

Yes, it's a toy, and it appears to be an amazingly creative one. And the more you play, the better you will get, and the better it will sound, the better you will feel, and the better the fun will be. Reviews will be interesting, as some will get this, and others will just play it like a toy and completely miss the point.

I realise the TC wanted haters, so I hate it for coming out when I have far too many games in my backlog to consider buying it for a long time.)

Because Nintendo were all out for this title when there were some great third-party titles in the pipe for the Wii

It represents where they are taking the industry

Why would anyone deny Wii Music is going to be a huge hit. Heck Nintendo dont even need to try to get it to sell millions

That's what Nintendo said, right?

I'd agree with that...but I like some toys better than Wii Music, like Transformers.

Even Wii Fit had objectives. Wii Music has no objectives whatsoever. It is incredibly hard for me to qualify this as a "videogame". There are no winners, no losers, no objectives/goals...nothing at all. It is just a music simulator, and it looks like a very poor one at that. In addition, this a huge step backwards for the genre. Compared to Guitar Hero and Rock Band, this game just looks so amateur in quality. And to top it off...this was Nintendo's "big" game at the E3 press conference. Very pathetic.

but in a way it's actually more of a rhythm game than anything on the market. Guitar hero and Rock band are just puzzle games.

i don't even know why i'm saying that but it's true.

I dislike it because it is just to different and has no goal for completing a song. They need to make an elite beat agent game for wii, not this one. But it still is probably going to do well in the market.

I hate it for three reasons:

1. It's not a real game. Games have to have three things: a winner, a loser, and an objective.

If it doesn't have these things, then it's called a toy.

2. It's casual crap. Self-explanatory.

3. It further solidifies just how much nintendo has distanced themselves from us. And at this point, this is like spitting in our faces.

Shadow_of_Kirby

I'm just pointing out one thing here: RPGs often don't have a winner and loser; just the objective.

Thanks. I'm going to resume lurking.
