Why does Bioware release games for PC at launch?

I've had and played games before their release quite often. No, not pirated. Some stores just give you the copies earlier.
In my country that is a cool thing to do when you get to know a store, and that is also why I got very angry at MS banning consoles of people playing a game that was officially not out yet.
I don't take kindly to corporate dicks.
