Why does everyone Hate Halo?

More hype and advertising than any other game. I like Halo and think it's a great series, but having all the ads and reviews and casual gamers screaming BEST GAME EVER over and over again, it's easy to see why some hate it. locopatho

I hate all the hype for the game too but I love to play it.

I personally think it's by far the most overrated series ever. Even 1998's Half-Life had better gameplay than any game in the series, in my opinion.Gamer4Iife

How did you like both Halo CE and Halo 2, but not like Halo 3? The campaign was as good as Halo CE's, and the multiplayer was as good as Halo 2's.

Have you played the game recently atleast? TU2 came out, and the game does have downloadable maps out. The mythic map pack is also in the works. Bungie also added new playlist to Halo 3 since launch.

I have some friends who think that Halo 3 is the best game ever made and always laugh at them and tell them that they dont know the OMG Half Life and Half Life 2, so in other words, i bash Halo because i dont like it very much and to joke with my friends, nothing personal.

And to be honest i'm quite interested in Halo Wars.

The better question is who actually doesn't like Halo besides fanboys?

How exactly? And what dont you like about it?
I've heard people say "halo 1's good but thats it" but i dont see how thats possible with liking 2 but not 3. When people say they like 1 but not 2, its because they were into 1's mp, which was, err... not exactly like halo 2 or 3's mp. The core campaign gameplay has always been pretty much the same. Obviously its evolved but it doesn't feel radically different like 1->2 mp.

And to be honest i'm quite interested in Halo Wars.

The ranking system is the same as before, it just has more detail. You still have your level, you still have your rank, you just have individual playlist ranks as well.

Because of the pedestal lemmings have put the game on. It doesn't deserve the praise it gets. There were a lot of complaints about the singleplayer campaign of Halo 2, yet Halo 3 was still hyped to blow away Crysis and every 1st person shooter in existence.

Halo was a fairly solid title. It mostly got by on it's online play, and that's fine... if you like online play. Now when Halo's campagin is at it's best, it's great, the first few levels were good, and the 4th, 6th and 7th were great! But when you're fighting against the flood, it's like the most boring time spent playing a SciFi FPS. Not only were they boring to kill, and the levels were terrible, they just had absolutely no impact whatsoever. Are these things meant to be scary? Funny how most seem to be destroyed by tapping the B button. The game was way to short aswell, and a whole third of the game was spent fighting the Flood. It was also way to easy. Co-op was good though. But I just can not see how this game could have gotten more than a 9. And no, the multiplayer wasn't good enough to make up for it's shortcomings, espically when they are blatantly obvious.WasntAvailable

Apparently by 2050, much of the world will have FLOODed. SCARY stuf, BUT NOT REALLY. Anyway I'm not suprised you didn't read my full post, it was BORING anyway. I could have made it a little SHORTER, it would have been EASYier too.

Nice. You got me totally figured out. Oh by the way, there's this guy, really great guy, gamer tag bunnyofdeath1, anyway, yeah that's how I got all this information. But mabye we have diffrent interpretations of hard, for example I don't find sitting down all that hard.

But sarcasm and fun aside, the Flood are meant to be scary. Why do you think they play creepy music when you fight them, show you traumatic screens of guys going insane and try to freak you out by showing you wierd visions on the screen. For the gigilies?

Halo is an overrated series that only cater to the casual Xbot crowd thats why.

There are tons of FPS better than Halo 3 this fall. Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Far Cry, and so on.

It wasn't wierd or scary, and it is essentially the same thing, it's designed to make you feel a bit uncomfortable. The effect the aimed for didn't work on me, it just annoyed me because of the vibration and the slow movement. Unless it was meant to make me angry, which it did.

I played on Heroic, and then played through on Legendary until my file corrupted (Anomily). Heroic was essentially run around and shoot until you take enough damage, and then hide. The hardest bit was in the second level, but even that was fine. It wouldn't have been easy had it not been for the fact it checkpointed every 2 seconds, it was like holding your hand. Legendary was the same except you had to be more careful.

Em, no. So when I'm near dead I'm not allowed to hide? Skulls are dificulty modifiers, filler content. I am not really bothered with what is essentially added to please people who greatly enjoy Halo. They should not be considered a difficulty level. If you think Halo is hard, you havn't played enough FPS games. Regenerating health = easy. No reason for self preservation.

If you think everybody hates Halo, then it must be because you've found many threads expressing that hate. If you want to know why, all you have to do is read those threads, you don't need to make a separate trhead for this. It makes you look like you're whining or that Chris Crocker defending Britney Spears.
