Why does everyone hate on Modern Warfare 2?

I dont see why everyone is up in arms about Modern warfare 2. as far as i know, everyone didnt mind cod 4, and considering this is similar in some ways, i dont understand the hate now. I can see maybe people complaining about activision, but that has to be the only credible reason, and even then, its not even a good one, to punish a game just because activision has a part in it. either way, hopefully this poll can clear up why everyone flies into a fury of destruction when mw2 is mentioned.

No one should be complaining about it being similar to cod 4, from what ive seen so far and read about it looks like a totally different game with the same mechanics (just like a sequel should be)

People hate it because they think it's exactly like Cod4 but with new maps. But they don't even know.

It doesnt matter what anyone says I like the COD gameplay and i'm buying it.

They hate Activision which is silly. And they think the game will be pure milkage which we don't even know. And they hate the popularity of COD, which is mind boggling. And this is coming from someone who will not touch COD with a 100 foot pole.

Because with COD4 being insanely popular it took casualization to a whole new level. Wii Sports has more depth than COD now and yet it's praised as the best FPS by many?

I used to loveshooters and playing online. Now casualized noobfests are the hot thing and having this concept called a skill gap is now non-existant.

I miss playing games like SOCOM and Counter Strike where it took weeks before I even managed to break even. I took a year break from both of those games and when I came back I was going negative and my aim was off. I took a year and a half break from COD4, first week back I manage to get a 3.4 K/D ratio.

THAT is why I hateModern Warfare 2 because it is only going to take casualization to a whole new level yet again. It's sad that I have to go back 4+ years to find a good multiplayer game.

That need's updating but atleast Batman doesnt haved the depth of a teaspoon like CoD.

I'm just glad to play some fun war games that are based on current times, not ww2.

too much of the same with very minor improvement. Activision's greedy ass decided to increase the price for the PC version and release a $150 collector's edition. Bobby Kotick is the scum of the industry. People are treating it like if its the second coming of Christ. I want this game to fail. End of Story.

When a game uses such a cheap nasty trick as respawning enemies how can you get that hyped for it?

This is 2009 not 1999, and even then games had moved past that.

I am currently not to fond of Activision, but I am sure MW2 will be an amazing game. I have it pre-ordered for PC and can't wait.

That's basically what it is. :| The series really needs to evolve, the mechanics have been the same sense 2005 and really each release is just a new skin of the previous one.

I'm looking forward to it. I'll be picking it up once the price is right along with Uncharted 2 and Sigma 2.

I don't hate Modern warfare 2 but I don't like the things Activision are doing like the day 1 map pack and $90 USD in the UK (I don't live in UK though).

well on one hand we have a post from IW that clearly says there is no DLC in work untill the full game is over, on the other hand we have you and what you wrote beacose someone told you he read it somewhere

Personally I think if the game comes with a fair amount of maps right out of the box then who cares if there are DLC maps released on day one? It's probably not going to happen, but if it did who cares? So long as Modern Warfare 2 comes with a reasonable amount of maps on disc.
