Why does everyone keep saying the wii has gamecube hardware!?!?!

For the love of god it DOESN'T!!!! All i EVER hear is "The wii has gimmicy controls," (ok fine your opinon), "and gamecube hardware." NO. YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. It's been proven that the wii has TWO TIMES the processing power and graphical capability of the gamecube. TWO TIMES...let's see, if you have 10 apples, 2x that amount of apples is 20 apples. Big difference see? If you have 1 girlfriend, 2x the number of girlfriends you have = 2 girlfriends! BIG DIFFERENCE THERE!

It even has processing power BEYOND the xbox and ps2!!! So you ignorant wii haters you CANNOT say the wii is LAST GEN hardware or GAMECUBE hardware. Because you are DEAD WRONG. You read it here, so stop posting stupid stuff like that.

Actually, the interview said it was a little better than xbox, only it couldn't do shaders, if I remember right.

Here is the Fifa producer agree'ing

"It's about as powerful as the original Xbox," he said. "The video hardware unfortunately is not as powerful. There's just a couple of key things that you can do on Xbox like shaders which you just cannot do on the Wii... Overall though it's pretty much what the original Xbox was."

and even if its stronger then all current sytems its still no where near a match for the ps3 or xbox 360.

I'm guessing you didn't read it did you. He states the video hardware is LESS powerful, but the console overall is about as powerful. Funny how he doesn't say the word GPU once?

You said the article states is a little more powerful. It states it's less or equal to as powerful. How does that equate to more? thats how.

It states as I said, it had less Power in the part of shaders and such spesifically, as I said. That is not spesifically power. It's been stated that in otehr interviews, but also brought up it has a bit more raw power than hte original xbox I believe.

It's somewhat true, 2x is pathetic for a next gen console.

Well you obviously don't understand computer hardware at all. The Wii has the same archiechture as the gamecube at a higher clock speed with more Ram. Increasing clock speeds and upping the ram without changing anything fundamental at all is not a generational shift.

It's like the difference between a low-end graphics card and a high-end graphics card from 6 years ago..... both are so outdated the difference is negligible.
