Bigger maps and number of players playing at once? That actually ruins multiplayer imo..

It depends on the game. Generally, bigger maps with more players adds to the "chaos" of the game, some people may like that. I can't imagine playing Battlefield with 8 players in a very small-sized map. Nor could I imagine playing Raven Shield with 64 players in an epic-sized map.

Battlefield series are great for 64 players, for example. I'd much rather have that many in BF3 than 32 as in BF:BC2. Larger maps in BF3 would be needed as well with that many players.

I remember when people were freaking out about how Gears was only going to have eight players per game. Then everyone got it and realized that a much higher player count would make things too crazy. Dude, it depends on the game.

I agree with you V6, people want bigger BF maps..... like I'm not frustrated by snipers across the map already.

I miss Joint Ops Typhoon Rising. 256 players on maps the size of small countries.

I don't remember the last time map size or the amount of players in a game was brought up.

Large maps can be pretty cool.

Minecraft is 8 times the size of the earth, you will never reach the end of the map and it gives you a huge sense of freedom.

Battlefield 2 had some of the best multiplayer and maps. It was 64 players online.

because System Wars revolves around superiority and larger numbers usually equates to 'better'

as for map size, it depends on the game. large player counts are chaotic, as mentioned above, some may like that, some don't.

I don't like the chaotic stuff, but sometimes I don't like the ghost-town feel. I generally prefer 16-24 with bursts of chaotic moments at times. instead of chaos all the time.

it's always fun in Shadowrun when I'm trolling with my minigun and there's 6-7 people running around and throwing grenades, and you mow down 2-3 people in a matter of seconds:oops:

but if that was happening all the time, I would probably rage quit.

HavocV3

That's probably the best description of System Wars I've ever seen.

Depends on the game. But I've found that beyond a certain number of players, most sessions turn to chaos. When you have too many people, then it just becomes a free-for-all fragfest.
