Why does Halo 3 generate so much Hate?

Because people are mad at how overrated the game is, ( I dont think it is overrated)

Heck, look at the Halo CE - 9.7 -

Now Halo 2 - 9.4

I hope Halo 3 will have a 9.5 or a 9.6.....

Still, it's because when the Xbox was released, it was mocked for only having halo to back it up.

Hopfully it won't be true, the 360 has loads of great titles coming to it as well...

it isnt true 360sold pretty well without the help of halo

When a game is on a console and it is not on the consoles of others who want to play it they will start hating calling it overrated,

but HALO is not the only game that gets these reactions MGS4 gets it FF , and DMC used to be hated a lot by xbox fans but when

DMC4 was announced for the 360 some ps3 fans starting hating on it.

Well yes. But the game has never failed to entertain it's fans so I don't think it's weird that alot of people are looking forward in playing Halo 3. And so in that way will overhype certain cool elements of the game.

If it isnt Halo,who desrves the hype ? Last in the MC trilogy vs new ip's,nothing but eye candy games,and sequel of a 6.9 game. Other than a few select titles,Id guess no more than 5 titlrs deserve more hype than Halo. All imo though.

Of course they can.What did HL2 do that was different to HL that was actually revolutionary? Gravity gun, physics? Nope, thats just an additonal weapon and something that naturally evolve as PC's get more powerful. So the answer there would be nothing.

well one major reason is it's popular, and you might be asking how does a popular game gain so much hate? Lack of experience and understanding.

See what most people don't realize is Halo isn't the type of game you instantly fall in love with. It's really something that grows on you the better you get at it. I remember playing it my first couple times MP, getting my ass handed to me, and pretty much hating the game. Then one day I did some co-op to eventually the point where I beat the game. From there I was starting to hold my own in MP and really appriciating the type of strategy unique to Halo.

Anyway had I only played a few levels, and MP matches I probably would of thought Halo was average too.

The same thing pretty much happened again when Halo 2 came out. Everybody I knew who played halo knew somebody w/ the french leaked version. So we all played it and pretty much didn't like it. Yet when the game is released, and we finish the campaign and get that free trial of XBL we all fell in love w/ Halo 2.

So don't get mad when people hate on halo it's just they haven't really had the time to actually get to know the game.

All games introduce new weapons, otherwise you could say that Halo 2's Energy sword was revolutionary. All games have had physics, just because it was amazing doesn't make it revolutionary. Crysis's physics are even more amazing, but they are also not revolutionary, just evolutionary :D

BTW, isn't Pin Ball physics based gameplay?

Halo hating is a sort of fad nowadays.Fanboys and haters just use the same old excuse ("it's a generic shooter", "it has no story", etc...) It's clear they havn't even played the game. They're just using the same excuse that's been used before.

It got AAA for a reason you know...

yeah it was like that all last gen with the xbox. whenever a game on the xbox got hyped and turned out to be an AAA..there were tons of threads poping up saying how overated the game was..it happened with ninja gaiden.. it happened with halo2.. it happened with gears of war..and it will happen halo3 and mass effect if both of those games get an AAA. it was as if hardcore cows thought it would be impossible for the xbox to get AAA titles.

Cows and Sheep hate it because it's for the 360 and is a massive system seller and hurts their system in sales. If it was for the Wii ( :lol: ) or the PS3 cows or sheep would praise it. It's fanboyism really, hate any game not on your system. That and some just don't like FPS.

For no good reason either. After the last one I was sure that the hype would almost disappear. Halo should have been left on PC. Microsoft had NO BUSINESS meltling with Bungie. The game would have been so much better in its original incarnation. So much was left out of it and tossed out cause MS had to have that "killer app".
