Why does Halo 3 have such ugly graphics?

the game play is solid i give it that. but the graphics are horriable. there is alot of jaggies, the textures are very bad looking. like for instance this sink and mirror . now this shot is blurry, but ill retake a better picture in a min

but i have to add that just because a sink in a game, that is about shooting, has bad textures and stuff, it doesnt sum up the graphics of the entire game in general

Eh. Looks decent to me. But it's worth noting that photo-mode screens are not an accurate representation of gameplay. I keep seeing these guy tossing those around, and, well...sorry, it's not helping things.

Off-screen camera shots are not very representative of the actual look of the game either.

Let's just say that the game looks decent and leave it at that.

It goes for scale and detail rather then tight quarters and graphics.

lol theatre mode always make the pics look good. im talking about gameplay pics. not theatre screenshots. lol halofans on damage control again. if you like, i can post awesome theatre shots also. lt-rickhunter

no they dont. when the screenshots come out it doesnt look as good the way it was on screen on theater mode. they take out certain ligthings and effects when screenshot is made. it happens mostly on the explosion effects.

Peopleyouonly have to takescreenshots of toliets and skins, stopposting good pics, you are making the TC look bad.

No, Uncharted looks great, Halo 3 looks good. Halo 3 shouldve looked better than COD4 as 360's best/flagship title.

Graphics on Halo 3 are varied, yes, and they didn't not live up to expectations of the "next gen" we thought of a couple years ago at E3.

If your saying the game is bad because of graphics alone, then you must be a Cow, or a fakeboy lemming, because you sure sound like one of their guys.

Who in their right mind gives a good GD if the sink looks good.

Graphics whores enjoy showing off their freakin' games graphics to their friends more than playing them. That is why they are graphics whores and not gamers, and can never be. Gameplay is what matters, and that is why Chrono Trigger is still one, if not the best game of all time.

New games are only for people who have played all the good old ones. If you haven't, then I suggest you go back and play the ones you missed. They are probably better than most games that have came out this decade. :P
