Not ever thread MUST INCLUDE pc. So there could be threads within system wars that take just about consoles. Just like there could be threads that only compare pc to 360

13C

That;'s just a straw man the Cows throw out calling something console exclusive does not exclude the PC as the game is a multiplat with the PC.

You can argue that mass effect isn't an exclusive but at the same time its in the 360s library. It adds to the quality of the game library

Canindian_Boy

Exactly, and by Adding quality to the 360 game library = me getting my money's worth!! :)

If what you say is true why is Mass Effect and Splinter Cell coming to the PC, why does any game other than WoW or flash games come to the PC if no one cares about them?

Snagal123

cheap to develope for

What does it matter how cheap it is? No one cares remeber, no ones going to buy it, so no matter how cheap it is there loosing money right? I mean no one cares about PC gaming at all, thats why Microsoft showed of a few PC gaming laptops...oh...right.

*sigh* Yes, the development cost does matter. It means you make more profit, or can sell less copies to break even (which is why nitche titles are pretty much only possible on PC.) And if no one's buying PC games, then why do they continue to be made, and why do services like Steam and Gamersgate continue to exsist (and thrive?) One would think that companies wouldn't make a game if they didn't profit from it, and companies wouldn't derive a lot of their revinue from distrubuting PC games if they weren't making a buck. PC gaming isn't controlled by Microsoft ;). Nvidia is about to release a new range of high-preformance cards (Fermi,) ATI did a few months ago (5xxx,) Intel has released a new series of preformance processors (i7.) What's that about no-one releasing PC hardware? To be fair, a lot of high-preformance hardware isn't purely brought by gamers, but there's no doubt that Nvidia and ATI wouldn't be releasing PC hardware with such frequency, and marketing their hardware mostly towards gamers, if there wasn't a market of gamers buying them.

They are trying to sell consoles. Why else would they coin the term exclusive to this. Marketing =/= reality.

Ha, so true, but I only hate it when they call a PS3/PC or a 360/PC game exclusive though.

I just watched the MS CES and the spokesperson mention console exclusives Mass Effect and Splinter Cell. I thought those games arent exclusive and cant be considered that? Im confused.

Idream2010

Splinter Cell won't be console exclusive for long. It will make a PS3 appearance sometime this year. Microsoft just loves to jump the gun and do crap like this. They said when the original Splinter Cell came out and then four months later it makes a appearance on the PS2 and Gamecube. Same goes for Bioshock, and Star Ocean they just love to say lies like that, because they are a bunch of a holes.

I don't see how it's coining anything as it being console exclusive is a fact :? Console referring to a gaming console, exclusive meaning only on one of the consoles. system war =/= reality.

*edit* now to call it exclusive that wouldn't be legit.

[QUOTE="Microsoft1234"][QUOTE="GamerX2311"]Because the real world has no care about pc gaming outside of WOW and flash games. System Wars likes to pretend they do. When a game is on 360 and pc, it's really looked upon as a 360 game that also has pc support, not a game playable on the 360 and pc. Pc gamers, and since everyone will back it since it has no true root, like to pretend that pc games aren't riddled with tons of crap. Snagal123

^^speaks the truth, i honestly dont know any person that plays current gen games on the pc other than mmos and flash games.

If what you say is true why is Mass Effect and Splinter Cell coming to the PC, why does any game other than WoW or flash games come to the PC if no one cares about them?

a vast majority dont care about other games than wow on the pc, if you were to ask......

I was trying to point out to the people saying "no one cares about PC games but WoW" that why would they make Mass Effect or Splinter Cell if no ones cares, i was not supporting their argument. Maybe because i didn't quote the whole lot you misunderstood me. I'm a PC gamer myself.

Well I really can't disagree, they are selling it, they throw around the term exclusive as they please. At the end of the day its on other gaming platforms, even if they are not directly competing (however enough so for MS to admit they rather stagger releases on PC to sell more 360 systems).

In the real world console exclusives do matter and they matter a lot. The term was pretty much banned on here because they did not want PC gamers to feel left out.

Because looking at it from the seller's view and the consumer's view is different.

No I play PC games and I don't Play wow or flash games.. MY PC (always have had one, been pc gaming since the 80's) makes the xbox consoles null and void... meaning no need (I can't stand halo , and could care less about forza) meaning that I get the superior versions of games like Mass Effect 2 (but I really don't want that game , too many other great rpgs coming out, and it looks like they turned it into a shooter) RIght now I am playing Divinity 2 , and Risen on my PC they rock

Why does Sony believe in PLAYSTATION exclusive but we don't here.

Technically, it's only on PlayStation platforms. PS2, PSP, PS3. It doesn't say Only on PlayStation 3.
