I have a HD projector with a 86" screen so image quality is important to me.

I booted them up with identical teams and constantly flicked bewteen them.

The 360 version seems to have 2-4 x AA and better lighting compared to the jagfest of the PS3 version.

I think if you have a 37" or less maybe you cant notice.

Also has anyone noticed VGA looks better than component and HDMI on the 360? Its the same on my 32" HDTV aswel.

Im gutted because now i have seen the 360 version of fifa im going to have to buy it now, cant go back to jaggy fifa on Ps3.

Its a multi-plat that's why.

And it might be poor calibration.

PS3 has poor AA compared to 360. They usually try to cover jaggies with some kind of fog.

Yeah ive noticed this aswel. Strange as you would assume HDMI being digital it would be better. Looking around on the net alot of people have the same issues. Also its not that my equipment is not calibrated as it is. I think HDMI makes jaggies more apparent. If only i had a VGA adapter for my PS3 :P

Check the video setting of each source ( contrast, brightness...etc) and make them equal, if you already did this then I don't have other solution for you.

I would make sure the resolution and cable settings are correct (Done automatically on the 360). It should look about the same. One might look better than the other marginally, but if it's a noticable diffrence then something isn't right.

Like... Gears... ohh wait.

I was always under the impression that AA was a bit out of consoles depth in general.

1.) It could be that your projector's VGA chipset is superior to its HDMI chipset. Typically (on HDTVs, anyway), it is the other way around. 2.) It could be that you have your black level/color range on your PS3 set to standard. Try the "expanded" option. I can't remember what the category is actually called, but look for it under video options.

Its not my settings guys, Warhawk and tekken DR pretty much have no jaggies. Uncharted has some but still looks good. Guess its multiplat games only.

Just thought it was also strange that 360 VGA connection was better than its own hdmi connection. Has been better on 2 hdtvs and 1 hd projector.

No do not make them equal, well as equal for your eyes as possible but do not give them equal values, the PS3 and 360 needs different calibration settings for both of them too look thier best.

just a bad port, many PS3 multiplats have suffered, due to developers not having enough time to work with the hardware and due for the fact that the 360 is usually the lead platform, known fact its much harder this way, fixing this is requires the PS3 to be the lead plat, then ported down..much easier this way. Due to the difference in hardware design, since the 360 is much like your typical PC architecture. but somehow i thinkiut could be your settings or projector, etc....look around and play with it.

VGA is analog where HDMI is digital. The VGA image isn't a perfect copy of the source, the lack fidelity of can actually negate aliasing somewhat.

How come when i swap between VGA and Component on my 360, jaggies are a lot more noticable on component.

I've never compared VGA with component but it would make sense that component would have a more faithful signal reproduction where component cables have better shielding. Also, with analog sources the length and quality of cables makes a big difference.
