There's always a new generation of kids to capture.
Nintendo targets them because they know their older fanbase will keep buying.

then explain the combination games that combine both versions? Blind defense is blind. The ball flow downward but there is only one way to get the ball through the goal and that's kicking it up.thats the point of pokemon, thats the way the game was built, you and your friend (or you find friends) have different versions which have different pokemons and you trade.

[QUOTE="NAPK1NS"]The objective of any industry is to make money. Way to go, Pokemon. Reverse-MachetePokemon isn't even expanding, what money are they making> 4803 game son one system has shown they made less money for every single one than before (Except HG and SS which took almost know budget to make with straight recycling.) I have to give it to Pokemon though, they recycle so much that Captain Planet doesn't have any rings in the pokemon universe. again, you're proving yourself to be an idiot. All pokemon games have sold f*cktons, even ruby and sapphire *despite not selling as much as the other gens* the ds era is when pokemon started getting back into style and B/W set records on day one, quickly becoming one of the fastest selling DS games

I mean really? I was even insulting the franchise with that as you ar implying by your snappy remarks, i mean they made less profit off each game in a row. It's still not a significant loss, that's not what I am saying, but it's going in that direction. So go play Pokemon White (The superior version) and calm down. Edit: what do you mean again? i wasn't even talking to you last time. Mistake?
petty sure pokemon red and blue were the first pokemon games and hence their name red had some pokemon blue didnt, you were never meant to buy both you were supposed to trade with other players on your game boys, to get the ones that you couldnt get in your version of the game.
so they games have always been that way close thread? only read the ops post and i have red wanna trade for my charizard? :)
Okay, if it's nostalgia as to why Nintendo franchises are still praised by critics and fans, then explain to me why these games from nostalgic series below are either heavily criticized by reviews, lambasted by fans, or perhaps both?[QUOTE="nintendoboy16"]
[QUOTE="FlamesOfGrey"]Because it's Nintendo and people have nostalgia blinding them.lightleggy
Hell, explain to me why even Nintendo fans disregard these games despite their nostalgia for past installments in their respective series?
Because those franchises are not as signifficant as mario, zelda or pokemon. except metroid, metroid other m was just bad not to mention it wasn't made by "team metroid" so theres one reason why nostalgia wouldn't hit.
Metroid fans can play metorid games without even caring about the dev team so what?Um... it's called being a not dumbass consumer. Don't want the games? Don't buy them! I only ever buy one version of a gen since my friend usually get other versions... we just trade. Besides most of the time the Pokemon on the "other" version aren't all that great... you can still get your favorites on one version.
I base the worth of a game on hours played versus cost. My wife puts in hundreds of hours per Pokemon games that she plays. Therefore, it's not a rip off. She wouldn't play that much if she didn't enjoy it.
B/W had me readdicted to pokemon for awhile. It was fun, I'd say it was worth the $30. Its just like that steak scene with cypher from the matrix. Only being ripped off is the matrix and pokemon is steak. I don't realise that pokemon is a ripoff because I'm having fun, so do I care? nomnomnompokemon :3
Because Pocket Monsters is awesome besides when two versions come out your only suppose to pick one.
lol, TC buys all 3 versions of each game. let's point and laugh at him for being stupid :DBrunoBRSI did that up until HeartGold; however, I liked having all the cartridges. I'm not b*tching about it. But honestly TC, the whole point of pokemon and version exclusives is to start a community of trading.
The whole point of having two versions is part of the experience. Nintendo made two versions so that people would be motivated to trade with eachother instead of catching every pokemon on their own. One of the main features of pokemon is trading. Aparently, Satoshi Tajiri came up with Pokemon when he pictured little bugs walking on the game boy link cable.

Metroid fans can play metorid games without even caring about the dev team so what? No, for the nostalgia effect to hit hard it needs to have "nintendo" on it. pretty much the same case as metal gear, if it doesn't have "a hideo kojima game" on it, nobody cares about it, hence why no one remembers portable ops even tho iit was a decent game. They have the gall to release two versions of the exact same game but make some pokemon exclusive. Then a year later announce a complete version with both legendaries and other exclusive pokemon. Back in Gen 2 you didnt have to buy two/three games to get both legendaries. You just bought one. So why does noone care?Capitan_Kidbig N are genius. add that cash cow to dropping 6 versions of every handheld they make for the super cash combo.
btw, the reason none cares is because hopefully they are not obsessed over how people blow the money they earn.

Nintendo has had nothing to do with Metroid pretty much since it came out. You have no idea what you're talking about.
[QUOTE="RyanShazam"]You DONT NEED to buy both games. Nintendo made all the Pokemon available through trade which is part of the game. I didn't realize this was a hard concept to grasp. Oh well, shows how desperate some people are to take jabs at Nintendo.Capitan_KidIts not the same. It couldve easily have been in the game. Why else do you think they make, Platinum, Emerald, yellow. a key element of pokemon is the social aspect with battling AND trading with others..
Just play and have fun.... Its a good offer that you have to buy only one... Japanese video game company Nintendo is very smart.
 barely any changes? Every generation has included something major to the competitive battle scene and overall battle of the gameplay. Gen 2 introduced new types to fix the balance of games, also split Special into Sp. Atk and Def. Along with allowing carrying of items and EV training. Gen 3 added in double battles and Pokemon Natures along with weather effects. Gen 4 introduced a change into the game's attack mechanics. We had now physical special attack splits for all attacks. Gen 5 introduced triple/rotation battles, allowed for EV points to be distributed after battles, and allowed for some of the best online connections ever in the series. Now we have real random battles with real people, tournaments, and so on. You clearly know nothing...The real rip off is that the game barely changes and they charge full price each time. It's like buying a Madden game, all you get is an updated roster. It's the same way Zelda was after OOT until TP.
