Why does MS favor nothing over games?
Oh right....Halo 5....well....thats one.
Weak defense. Instead of answering the question: bu-bu-bu-bu microsoft....
B/c it's a stupid question with no validity.
Talk about weak defense....you're kidding yourself if you believe this.
I've played numerous games by Sony that aren't mostly cutscenes.
Bloodborne just came out.
He's speaking in general, Bloodborne is an exception to the rule but it doesn't negate the existence of the rule.
I know "moviestation" is often repeated but never questioned but honestly, outside of Quantic Dreams, what other IP has an overload of cinematics?
@ps4hasnogames:
it has been like that since the great sucess of god of war, a game with excelent graphics, story and gameplay, and also many impressive cutscenes for 2005
now they think that fanboys and noobs will go crazy on cutscenes and forgive the lack of decent story, gameplay, all they focus now of visuals and so they strip everything else to make a "graphics king" on low end hardware

We really did land on the moon.
There are a few pretty big games on Sony's consoles that have supported this such as the Uncharted series, the God of War Series, Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, Puppeteer etc. That's not to say they don't have a bunch of games that are gameplay focused. It's just those games don't seem to get the spot light as much as some of the flashier ones.
Bloodborne just came out.

The RULE? Are these Movies?:
LBP 1,2,3
Yakuza 3,4,5
Uncharted 1,2,3, (may be cinematic, but it has great gripping intense gameplay, and with awsome multiplayer still going strong today. Like TC was talking about GEARS. In no way at "Movie" game with limited game play).
God of War 3 and Ascension
Fat Princess
Twisted Metal
Killzone 2 and 3 (I wont include Shadow Fall cuz that game is shit)
MAG
Tear Away
Gran Turismo
Sly Cooper
SOCOM Confrontation and 4
Resistance 1,2,3
Motor Storm 1, Pacific Rim, Apocalypse
War Hawk, Star Hawk
Infamous 1,2, Second Son
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royal
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty Insomniac
Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One
Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault
Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus
The MLB The Show francshise
The Last of US
YES, TLoU. The game had like half the length of cutscenes Uncharted had, so dont you talk to me about TLoU being a movie.
There is a difference between a game being cinematic (Uncharted) and games with more cutscenes than gameplay (MGS4, Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, The Order 1886).
TC is complaining about "Movie games", cutscenes over gameplay like The Order, Heavy Rain, etc), thats fine, but to then say those "Movies games" are also the rest of the games I just listed above is nonsense. Get the **** out of here with that.
I love MGS4 and Heavy Rain, and if ya'll wanna call them "Movies" cuz the have alot of cutscenes and are are with limited gameplay and QTE, ok... thats fine, Ill give you that. I wont hold those against you. But to just take 3 or 4 games and then say that most Playstation games are movies just shows how idiotic you guys are.
I just say that some one else had already ripped you a new with the same thing I just posted. Thats ok, Im happy to rip you another.
Bloodborne just came out.

If you look at the summary of a few of Sony's games' reviews:
God of War 3:
Exhilarating combat and an imposing sense of scale provide a fitting end to Kratos' saga.
Uncharted 2
With an exhilarating campaign, intense cooperative mode, and addictive multiplayer competition, Uncharted 2 is a complete game that is completely awesome.
LittleBigPlanet 3
Little Big Planet 3 is the most difficult game in the series by virtue of its challenges. More complicated problems mean more tools to solve them, giving you a wide berth to choose your own path through Bunkum. The push for creativity is limited in the way you play the campaign, but it’s an overwhelming presence within creation mode, offering boundless ways to leave your own mark on Craftworld.
inFamous Second Son
Second Son focuses on pure enjoyment. It communicates that through the excellent combat that forces you to concoct crazy tactics to overthrow the invading forces. It draws you in further through its incredible visuals that not only hint at the PlayStation 4's impressive power, but employ a sensible artistic touch that makes Seattle a place you want to explore.
No mention of the word cutscene anywhere, and all are being praised on their gameplay enjoyment. Let's toss in a few more games with more gameplay over cutscenes made by Sony:
Patapon
Gravity Rush
Tearaway
MLB 15 The Show
SingStar
Jak and Daxter
Sly Cooper
Gran Turismo
Killzone Mercenary
Motorstorm
Shadow of the Colossus
Ico
The Last of Us
Then if we move to Sony published games:
PlayStation AllStars BR
Hohokum
Journey
CounterSpy
Ratchet and Clank
DUST 514
The Unfinished Swan
Twisted Metal
Starhawk
And so on.
So try creating a rule and an exception best you can. You can see that no matter what year and what genre, you have variety.
TC = owned.

guys don't think I'm hating on ps4. I actually liked the cut-scenes in uncharted. and I LOVED them in MGS4 even though people like to shit on it. I just want to see them be more innovative in gameplay and not resort to hiring actors to be a CGI face in a cut-scene.

Word. As much as I love The Last Of Us and Uncharted, I'm pissed that Ratchet and Clank for the PS4 is so under the radar. I won't be satisfied until Sony bundle that game with a PS4 and splash the ad all over the place. R&C is a true gem that I feel Sony under sell these days :(
@darkangel115: all ND games? What are you smoking. There is plenty of gameplay in their games. I'll give you the order and I don't know enough about until dawn.
Not really. its basically a longer version of the order but the cut scenes still make up way too much of the game. and yes walking and talking from point A to point B is still a cut scene IMO
2000+ posts and this guy is about a dumb as they come. PS4 has way more games than the Xboned but dont worry Halo 5 will save the day. Funny for no games I cant seem to find enough time to play Bloodborne as well as all the other multi-plats, indies & exclusives.
I expect that game in games to widen even further. Why sell on a machine that isnt selling. What place is that piece of crap on at Amazon 40,50,60. What place is PS4.......... Top 10.
6 more months left till xbox get its first game for 2015.. hang in there xbox fans!
PS4 got one worthwhile AAA exclusive.
Xbone got 3 Awesome AAA games last year.
You're in no position to reticule other platforms.
@darkangel115: sorry I don't agree. Yes there are cutscenes but there is still tons of gameplay. In fact there's more gameplay than cutscenes in the uncharted series and a lot of that walking and talking has platformimg sections where you have to climb and explore.

Uncharted has more gameplay than cut-scenes. Uncharted it's nothing like The Order. Uncharted has no QTE's. Uncharted only has a single cinematic walking and it's at the beginning of Uncharted 3.

I don't know who you're trying to fool.
But they're not worth being on your side if they believe you.
You act as if Uncharted, TLoU, and so on don't have gameplay. Those games have much more gameplay than cutscenes.
The fact that you exaggerate this is testament to you hating Sony.....anyone who thinks someone named ps4hasnogames is not trying to hate on Sony with this thread....is fucking stupid.
Straight up stupid.
@bobrossperm: Yeah I love Ratchet and Clank. A Crack in Time was phenomenal. Weren't they working on a R&C reboot? I heard Insomniac speak about it once and it went under the radar then. I haven't heard anything about it since.

Yes it's a total reimagining of their origin story. A 100% different game, not a remake or anything. It's perhaps my most anticipated PS4 game this year along with Tearaway and Bloodborne.

i pre ordered the arkham knight bundle today. its too sexy to pass up. plus mgs5 is right around the corner. so don't get ahead of yourself

platforming or not, its still walking or talking. just like TLOU with swimming and moving platforms or grabbing ladders for ellie. Its not really gameplay to just walk around IMO. i mean would you play a game where all you did was walk around and talk for 4 hours with nothing else to do? I mean you are more then welcome to have your own opinion, but i found the cutscenes to be way too much for my liking.

Well i went back on PSnow to give UC2 another chance and seriously i quit it after an hour as the 1st hours was 50 minutes of cut scenes and climbing up a train. Same goes with TLOU, way too many cutscenes and boring walking segments. Sure its not nearly as bad as the order, but it is still way too much for my liking. Its like some devs don't realize you can build a story and have a "movie like" game w/o the overbearing cut scenes, QTEs, and walking segments.
@darkangel115: You are vastly underselling the game man. Your experience doesn't reflect most people who played it.

I never said it did. I know many people enjoy it, It just wasn't for me. Way to boring, too much talking and walking, not enough action. Of course that's my opinion and others will differ.

You really need to play Uncharted 2 again. There are a number of pointless and drawn out segments that have little to no gameplay of any relevance a la cinematic walking.
We have cinematic walking in the ice cave with Tenzen, the foreign village, the opening sequence, and much of the museum heist. Then there are the cinematic climbing portions which are essentially the same thing just with climbing and it's used heavily throughout the game. I personally feel that these portions are worse than the cutscenes as they cannot be skipped. You are forced to play through way too many sections that have little to no interactive relevance.

Thread should have ended here...
Maybe I can understand this complaint with MGS4, but that wasn't a sony made game it was just exclusive to them and the gameplay was still great. It's not like Sony Japan codeveloped it like Demons Souls and Bloodborne.
Other than that, I don't understand why having an involved, developed story like TLOU is a bad thing. Maybe it's a little ambiguous and emotionally mature content for certain gamers. Sony fans seem to appreciate it though.
