Maybe you haven't been paying attention to Square's business strategy, but they (as well as many other Japanese gaming companies) have realized that a Japan-only strategy would eventually kill it. Making PS3-only games makes sense only in Japan but nowhere else. The fact is Square and other Japanese companies need European and North American gamers to buy their products. And in those territories, the 360 has a far larger install base. It's simple economics.

I like it how Cows call any developer that doesn`t want to jump through Sony`s unnecessary programming hoops "lazy developers"... Square has a history of jumping ship on console producers who they feel are putting their interests ahead of those of the third party developers making games for their consoles. They did it with Nintendo when Nintendo after years of Nintendo holding back the good cartridge technology from 3rd party developers and general bullying when it came to developing on non-Nintendo platforms.. Maybe they're doing it now because they're sick of Sony's intentionally cramming difficult to program for propriety processors down developer's throats for generations, upping development time and cost.
No company wants to see a console "win" or "lose". That's just System Wars talk. They're looking out for themselves. When they see the 360 as being a success, they support it.

Well they are trying to broaden their market and not lose support from microsoft, given the success of their console, they probably would want to keep them as partners. Take off the fanboy goggles and l2business
SE is trying to bring the JRPG market to America, unfortunatly if it doesnt say Final Fantasy JRPG's have a norotious history of not selling well in the western world, especially on the 360 the market for them just doesnt seem to be there.

I'm sorry but if the PS2 couldn't do that with it's massive fanbase there is no way in hell the 360 is going to. SE are most likely testing the 360 but I don't know how well that's going to work out..

If WKC tops the 800.000+ worldwide of Lost Odyssey, i am sure Square will support PS3 more
What it is, is that Square-Enix and there sister company churn out a lot of games. Some of these games are better then others. They have a quality control person who then looks at these games and if the game is good, then they move it to the Sony tray so they come out on one of there systems. Games that fail the quality control get throw into the X-box bin.

They didnt say anything like that, but yeah, the PS3 isnt doing too well, so theres no HD console there, if the 360 sells a few more units, then at least the HD console market will grow.
They dont? Are they releasing FFXIII for the 360 in Japan? No.They just realized being a third party exclusive in the age of multimillion dollar game development isn't worth it.
They are however, very good at putting 10 yr. old games in the blender and selling them for 60$ "New".
Square Soft were RPG gods. Square Enix, not so much, now they spend way too much time on perfect graphics/movie sequences, and wacky new battle systems that arent very fun.
If a company pays you Millions of dollars to release exclusive games on their system, would you do it? It's all about money. Fanboys doesn't mean crap to them.
