I'd love to have one but I don't think the Wii's internal memory has enough space for it.

Because it's "Hard-Drive" is basically just a built-in memory card.

And I would agree that that is the main problem.

NO HDD! The system only has ONE HALF OF ONE GIG mainly to sell you emulated games!

1/2 gig.

NO ROOM for DEMO's MAN.

Nintendo doesn't like DEMO's anyways, a Sony console idea. If they did, the GC would have had them with Nintendo Power.

Sorry man, NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN, EVER.

It's funny how Wii fans are starting to want NEXT GEN features added to their system.

Nintendo has stated that they are releasing a demo channel. I think they are trying to figure out how to do it effectivly without a hard drive.

nintendo is going to add a ds download channel so a wii demo channel is inevitable, they just need to release an update to add external hdd compatibility.

People aren't going to buy a HDD so they can DL demo's. Nintendo will also see how well Sony did with their HDD back in the day....

It's not going to happen.

DS games are much smaller, so it will be possible, but Not Wii games.

There may be some obvious problems dealing with memory, but if they are somehow able to implement a demo channel,it would be a very useful addition. The possibility to download DS demos directly from your Wii to DS has also been stated by Nintendo, and hopefully a channel or system like that is in the works.

An 8gb SD should be plenty of space to run these demos, so I don't see why not.

You can buy 8gb SD cards for 80 bucks now:

I think Nintendo is just waiting till they become a bit more resonable before releasing the channel and it will use the SD Card.

It's next-gen features that Sony started back in the day right?

Not just Sony, PC, and 360 as well. It isn't about who started it, it's about who is offering it NOW.

The bottomline is I've heard it all about the Wii? The wii is getting HD-DVD playback. The Wii is going to be upgradeable in the future for better GFX. Now, the Wii is getting a HDD. All from the fans. If they want next gen features, they need to get a next gen console.

The Wii is a whole different machine, New Gen, if you will.

people buy hdd's for their core 360 because they want more room and demoes, so why not for the wii? if you could use non nintendo external hdd's lots of people would buy, a 100 gb external hdd is cheaper than the 360's hdd.

And Sony and Microsoft don't make you buy anything extra? Puh-leaze. Xbox live anyone? There are also like 7 different kinds of Xbox's, and their releasing new ones that don't stop working after 6 months. And Sony? Their releasing a new controller with rumble, A FEATURE THAT WAS AVAILABLE TWO GENS AGO, so don't talk about Nintendo being "last gen"

Besides, even if I bought all that, those things + the cost ofthe Wiiprobably wouldn't even be half of what the PS3 is.

I don't really care too much for demos, mainly because I would just rent the game if I had any doubts about it. Demos are too short usually to be anything too enjoyable.

Although Possible, I don't see how/WHY Nintendo will spend the Resources developing such a channel. They are all about the bottomline, and right now the Wii is doind PHENOMINAL with a mediocre/downright horrible online service.

They really aren't interested in ONLINE unless it's for selling emulated games, which helps them make even more money. It's a money numbers crunching game, and I don't see Nintendo ever doing it for the Wii games. The 8gig memeory card would be able to do a couple of demo's if they did want to do it though.

The Original Xbox had a 8gig HDD, and even it didn't do what the 360/PS3 does with demo's today, so it isn't likely. Especially considering M$ is much better at Software implementation...

It's not really that it would be a sony idea, but they had a metroid and WII sports (Well, i consiter it a demo, it is so you can get used to the WII). and they WILL have more demos but they dont got much, so the demos come as updates and NOT in a chanel, but you do find them in the WII shop so when you think about it it is in a chanel, just not in its own.

There isn't enough memory to download a demo. It would be nice, but a hard drive would need to come out first.

Didn't you guys know there are 32gig SD Cards? that's more then enough space for game demos and all your favorite VC games, Also Nintendo Game Cube did have lots of demos for you people that think they weren't into it. Demos encourage people to buy games, it is dumb for them not to do it with the Wii.

The recent announcement to allow a Wii to use a 32gb SD card might allow that to happen.

The reason was that there would be little places to actually store the demos. But now that is fixed, there is no reason why there isn't one.
