Why don't games like FF15, Red Dead Redemption 2, launch on PC?

PC gets League of Legends, World of Warcraft and a variety of N64 looking games to keep Hermits satisfied.

*snicker*

PC gets a vast majority of multiplats, nearly all of which are objectively much better played on PC.

Oh and XCOM2, Total War, Unreal, Star Citizen, Civ, and every AAA XBO title do not look like N64 games.

I really want to see FFXV on pc. I dont know why there is no information on it, when it's been shown in fps comparisons with the consoles on IGN and other sites, and it's been announced. Weird. Looking at the last 6-7 square games though, it will perform atrociously.

RDR2, on the other hand, is some high grade horseshit. Rockstar will pull the same crap they did with GTAV. They'll say not a word on a pc word, giving vague "we are currently focused on our console versions at this moment" for over a year, before releasing a slightly upgraded version. We waited like 18 months for V on pc, and it was delayed multiple times without explanation. They will double dip RDR2 in the same way.

Denuvo, even though is doesn't effect games, and for the most part, works, has been subject to a prolific smear campaign, even though it protects the product, and is substantially less intrusive or resource intensive or limiting as something like steam - to the point of non existence.

Why? Because they can't steal it. If anything this solidifies my point.

Thats why games protected by denuvo sold into billions?

And DRMless witcher 3 tanked in sales?

They see you trollin....they lovin your trollin away!!

The Witcher 3 is a console game. It barely operated on the mouse and keyboard at launch, so much so that they had to release a patched alternate control scheme, because pc wasn't the focal point of development.

Even Cd Projekt, for all their repeated obnoxious proclamations of the vitality of pc gaming, jumped ship.

Not really sure how that is a good example, quite the opposite.

MS jumped ship to PC gaming

Giving up entire Xbox library

Youre a decent troll Ill give you that

A pc gamer trolling other pc gamers?

Amazing fakeboy respect

Microsoft use to make exclusive AAA titles like Age Of Empires. Now pc is relegated as an extension of Xbox, rather than it's own separate entity.

I guess Pompeii can take solace in that it technically still exists.

Trolling on a great level into 2017!!

Happy new year dear Troll!!

Keep ignoring that the xbox360/ps3 gen had pc in a much worse state

That consoles turned into PCs with hardware upgrades

That Xbone is a failed console

Oh and we all know that you keep babbling about FPS this and fps that

Trolls dont admit that Denuvo killed their "argument"...

I don't care about FF15, but I would love for RDR2 to come to PC. It sucks that we have to wait for certain games, but at least PC gets the best versions. It is a shame that the original RDR did not come to PC, but I don't think that will be the case with the sequel.

I dont know about Red Dead but FF is a JRPG and those are fairly new to PCs and there's simply not as big of a market for it on PC.... PC's tend to have the GOAT RPGs, so there is no real reason to rush the silliness of FF when you already have Skyrim and its thousands of mods, Ultima, Baldur's Gate, etc. And If you want to dumb it down, go with Diablo.

IMO, original RDR was kinda boring. Wild West setting wears off its welcome pretty quickly. Not a big fan of riding horses, doing some cowboy work, collecting herbs, and shooting mechanics suck balls. It's almost impossible to play Rockstar games without aim assist. IMO, Witcher 3 was the closest to Rockstar's sandbox formula, but because it was fantasy and all, it was much more interesting to play.

This thread is a testament to how short sighted and argument prone gamers can be. Every Rockstar title save Table Tennis and Red Dead (you can be petty and google the other few exceptions if you want, won't change the argument) have seen PC releases. Also, on what planet can you see Square releasing pretty much every final fantasy on pc and not 15?

With how fickle pc gamers are and their readiness to crucify devs for ports that don't work perfectly, they've only themselves to blame for companies releasing on their platform later. Taking time to ensure ports work fine for the multitudes of variables pc gamers systems bring to the table is a good thing. For the rest who feel the need to crow about the time lapse, you look as dumb as the console kids stroking their jimmies over the value of timed console exclusives.

Grow up the lot of you and put your squirt guns away. There's nothing to discuss here.

Same reason why there are no other games on PC - PC is not a gaming platform since about 2004. Its a worktool. Playing games on PC is like eating with a hammer and a screwdriver - it is technically possible, but you are not supposed to do it.

There is a good chance FF15 will come to the PC, (not that I care, FF ever since FF10 has been going nothing but downhill, even FF7 remake is gonna be crap because it got influenced by the shallow minds of the current mainstream audience of gamers) as for Red Dead Redemption, who knows? its most likely a contract thing.

As for the idiots blaming piracy........lol.

It does seem like a PC version requires extra work these days, even things we take for granted:

-Support for higher resolutions, needs to be tested or it can be shipped broken.
-Support for higher framerates, sometimes 30 fps is hardcoded into the engine :/
-Mod support also takes a bunch of work.

They'll come to PC eventually, no reason not to, they like money. Most likely will just milk out the console sales for a year and hope people rebuy again for PC to get better version of the same game.

Got to make the console gamers feel like special little soldiers, that way any of them that have access to a PC will double dip when they release the superior version. Rockstar done it three times with GTA V.

Eh? Even Assassins Creed, a game (as well as a better console port) Ubisoft outright advised not to play on a mouse and keyboard controls significantly better.

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/assassins-creed-iii-pc-best-with-controller-says-director/1100-6368584/

I know it's embarrassing, pc gamers to these facts thrown in their face considering how much investment they put into the game. I too was heartbroken both physically and emotionally when Crysis 2 was announced, but let's not delude ourselves out of attachment. This controls terrible, we all know it does, just nobody is brave enough to say it due to the popularise spiel.

In many ways, most ways, of the pc gamers, Ghost4Ever is really one of the few to see it for what it is with no contention for hypocrisy, and that's admirable - regardless of other character folly If anyone wants any basic comprehensions of a real pc gamers disposition he's the man to go to.

.. I am pretty certain both are going to the pc.. That being said, Rockstar are assholes to the pc base.. In which they were basically attempting to police people's games in banning people using mods in the singleplayer portion of the game when it came to GTA5... They also threatened legal action towards people who were running private free servers of GTA5 that were using mods instead of their official servers..

1. PC can use both PS4 and XBONE controller, on top of 100's of others.....

2. AC and TW3 run and look considerably better on PC.

What are you even debating?

Of course it can, this is symptomatic of becoming a hub for console ports. Whereas in the early 90's and 2000's it was rare to have a console port, let alone a pc game built with a console UI with native control pad support, it is now standardized.

This is because, the games, are made for consoles - such as, The Witcher 3. A console game, for console gamers, directed at consoles, which works considerably better with a pad, with an UI designed, for a pad.

This is a fact, there is no debate.

Same here. He showed some videos where the supposed TW3 controls have problems locking on when the player let himself get surrounded by bad guys.

I didn't have problems with that situation. I simply positioned myself to where the bad guys cannot come to me all at once which is good practice anyway.

Because there is a large number of hardware configurations to optimize the game for... and with how some developers these days can barely released a finished game across unified hardware on consoles, it doesn't surprise me that they don't want to tackle a PC release.

I'm willing to bet a PC version of FF15 will get announced at someone next year. SE have been quietly releasing old FF titles on steam for 2 years.

III, IV (+After Years), V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X/X-2 Remaster, XI, XIII, XIII-2, and XIV are all available right now.

The only ones missing are I, II, XII and XV. Considering X/X-2 were just redone, I'm assuming work is already underway on XII.

While mostly the case, Rockstar cannot complain about PC sales. You would've figured Red Dead would've launched along consoles, with as much money as they have made out of GTAV on PC.

They put a lot of time trying to optimize F15 for consoles. You won't likely see a PC version for awhile.

As for Red Dem, you won't see the first one ever come because the source code was lost during a server crash. Rockstar won't say anything about Red Dem 2 for PC, and might decide to so if sales are good.

RDR 2 is gonna be on PC. rockstar made so much goddamn money off GTA V on PC, and whenever the game is barely on sale, it shoots to the top of the steam top seller list.

@SolidGame_basic:

Simple. Console gamers support the games. For example. Star Wars Battlefront on X1 and PS4 easily fill 40 player game modes. It's nearly impossible to substain 40 player lobbies on PC. Console gamers are also more likely to support the season passes that developers work on after a games release (BTW I don't support DLC. Just saying).

PC players spend most their time on games that are currently in development rather then finished games. PC games would rather spend $10-$20 on a beta or alpha game then buy $60 for a game from big companies.

If that was even slightly true, at least they're actually supporting and helping get new games made and new developers build their customer base. Unlike the console second hand games market which does nothing but hurt them.

I hope you are not serious. Do you really believe the source code was lost during a server crash? RockStar and Take 2 are a multi billion dollar company. Do you really think they wouldn't have backups and then backups of backups at multiple physical locations? For realz....

It's just something I heard. Wasn't sure if it was true or not.

I think for Final Fantasy 15, Square Enix probably put a hard deadline of when the game had to be released by. Me thinks Holiday 2016 and nothing beyond that.

The development team was already in crunch time for the longest time while trying to finish up the console versions. Trying to add a PC version into the mix would have made the task of finishing up the game by the deadline near impossible.

FF15 is going to come to PC, there is a extremely high chance of that due to the engine and history, but it will be later this year or maybe 2018.
