Had a chance to listen to these, here's what I think (repetition in video game songs is more normal due to the nature of them needing to loop)
Staff Roll- A little too repetitive, electric guitar messes up the mood of the song too quickly.
Fierce Battle- Started out alright, but I feel like I'm being yelled at by a gang of dogs with megaphones for the rest of the song.
Price of Freedom- Not too bad, got a beat and you could probably dance to it at the beginning : ) I don't know what it is with composers who go electric guitar happy in the middle of songs like this though, it messes with the song's tone. Normal guitar and electric guitar playing the same thing at the same time gets confusing, the instruments don't mix well. Gets a little repetitive.
Under The Apple Tree- Very nice heavy tone at first, starts feeling a little too noisy at some points. I love the rich sound of the electric guitar at the start and throughout during that same refrain. Not whiny at all.
Snow's Theme - I'm not much of a fan of the trend to shift Final Fantasy's music to more a more heavy industrial sound, starting with the intro song/Jecht fight theme in 10, and stand alone it's not horrible, but I think the intended tone can be achieved better with more traditional sounds with a bit of synth/electric thrown in personally.
Blinded By Light- This is a lot better of a traditional Final Fantasy feel at first, then they go and throw the heavy electric instruments in there along with the nice instrumental sounds, I just don't think they mix well. The violin is a welcome touch, but only because it's playing during the absence of the heavy electric stuff.
Don't get offended if you disagree, you like what you like.
