It will net them a *little* extra cash (though with the developer fees ... probably not).

I know it's hard to believe, but some people just don't have a computer capable of running Minecraft decently. And I play Minecraft without mods and it's still a perfectly good game.

I only get mods, so I can play in a different universe than the game. these mods are not needed.

Those are awesome. Will download when I get back to the states. Do they work on custom servers? I remember having trouble getting the cool mods to work in multiplayer last time I played.

I said decently, my brother can run it but if he does some searching, he quickly runs into framerate problems, even on low settings. So while most computers can run it, a lot of people might not be able to play it very well.

ehussein1379

I dunno if MS is smart those fee's will be lower and i know for a fact if they get inside xbox on minecraft's release and tout it as the next big thing to hit XBL it could well do pretty well on live.

Its short sighted to say something like a little extra cash, cause it could possibly bring minecraft to an audience who've never heard of it thus sparking more intrest.Dunno why you people have this mentality especially yourself isnt it actually good this has become a sucess and expanding into new territory? if MS let notch keep patching and upgrading as we go (i've got a feeling that will be a condition in notch's contract for some reason) and possibly brings GFWL/XBL interactivity this could be a sure fire hit amongst everyone.

Sure PC gamers will argue b-b-b-but minecraft will only work well on PC, i dont see how it really cant work on a console tbh a few little tweaks to the inventory system and hey ho away we go.

Minecraft can require a lot of RAM. I love it without mods. It's amazing how ignorant Gamespot forums can be. Minecraft is a beautiful game.

Minecraft on the consoles isn't even going to be minecraft minus mods.

It's going to be a dumbed down version made by another company.

Forget about building huge and complex areas for one.

From what I've heard, several of the modes from the PC with be includes and others will be added in the future. Most people probably won't get it on the 360 anyways, but the fact that it won't be on the PS3 is good for Microsoft. PC + XBox 360 = Microsoft.

Out of interest, are xbox users going to have to purchase a separate version of the game if they already have the alpha/beta for the PC or is it going to be cloud-based and interactive between the PC and 360?

The 360 and Pocket Edition (Android/iOS) versions of Minecraft are totally separate games so must be purchased separately. They cannot interact with the PC version and will have significantly differing features and content (not just the obvious lack of modding support).

How can a PC have issues running Minecraft? The game is so... easy to run. I guess the CPU can get a little stressed in parts but still. Believe it or not, not everyone is given a 360 for free. At some point, I'm sure your brother had to buy that 360 (or it was given as a gift, either way, I'm sure someone paid money for it). Same applies to your logic. Put up some money and buy a $200 netbook and get the better gaming experience.

I'm assuming you mean notebook, netbooks are terrible for almost any gaming that isn't some free flash game on the internet.

And you'd be surprised how easily it is to make Minecraft slow to a crawl, or not even work. Using my brother as an example again, or my friends laptop. For my brother the size of one of his worlds is about 13 mb, he can't even use it because it doesn't work. Works on my laptop (sort of) though. And my friend, even on low settings it stutters.

Personally i tried the browser version back when you could play for free and it crashed on me before I could even walk five step. My PC is pretty low end, I can't even run Halo or the original CoD at a steady frame rate at 1280x800.

I'm not gonna buy a gaming PC any time soon so provided the xbox version is faithfull to the PC version I'll be all over it.

I'd rather play Minecraft on PC not because of mods, but simply because Minecraft is one of those games that's easier and more fun to play on PC.

As for mods, I don't really care about them in general. I play most of my PC games unmodded. I prefer to play the game the way the developer intended it to played.

Also some people just don't play games on PC, but they'll see it on the XBox marketplace.
