your right! they really should add something that would amke it so people who dont want to watch the cutscenes dont have to!
oh wait, its called skipping it.
ttp over at Neogaf, who has played the game, said that the longest cutscene is the ending at 30 minutes.RobbieH1234
Still though, it seems that Kojima wants to make a movie instead of a game. And if this is the case, then he can GTFO.

I think you're missing the point, guy. It's the mentality and the thought process behind doing something like this. Seriously, when the devs could be working on gameplsy that's new and creative, thet're making a friggen movie...

But one of the first reviewers said that the game took him 30 hours to finish, with 9 of those hours being cutscenes. Even then, he didn't unlock everything. 21 hours of gameplay is a pretty hefty amount.Game is art.tekmojo
Yes, and what sets it apart from other mediums of art is the type and amount of user interaction. Are you catching my drift?

and how do you know the guys that did the cutscenes were even the same guys that did the gameplay? and either way, its a MGS game, if you dont like teh cutscenes, either skip them or STFU about it.
everyone knows MGS games have alot of story to them.
and FYI, nobody cares whether you plan on playing the game or not.
The guy who is reviewing MGS4 for GamePro already debunked this. He has beat it twice and said that none of the cutscenes lasted nearly that long. Your loss, man.NAPK1NS
how so?

Oh! That's right, MGS fans don't "PLAY" games. my bad...
And apparently, you care. You seem pretty eager to respond to the OP.

There is plenty of user interaction. Have you not seen any of the gamplay videos? The developer has the right to do anything, there are no limitations. I call this orginality, and that is what I liked about the other MGS games.[QUOTE="8drunkengods"][QUOTE="tekmojo"]Game is art.tekmojo

Err, then your NOT an MGS fan...don't play it. Most of MGS epicness comes from the story telling. I don't want some MGS game with short cut-scenes and toned down story, just to be able to play more, i wanna know what happens and how things end...SIMPLE!
i'm sorry if you've been spoilt with games like gears, but the long cutscenes are a must.
just because there is longer cutscenes, doesn't mean there's barely any gamplay, its STILL a video game. beat it once, watch it all...and then next time skip it all and play till your heart desires....geez.
