They don't charge to carry the "Games for Windows" branding :?
@Mario2007 Yeah that's one funny comment there.:P
System wars, not console wars. Every faction tries to exclude the pc when it makes their system looks better, when in reality PC has the best graphics and the most plentiful and varied exclusive lineup.
No one wants to hear about the PC because most of us don't want to hear someone talk about a game they can't even run properly, yet choose pictures from the strongest PCs when talking about how awesome the graphics are despite the fact they're playing it in black and white since their systems can't handle it. Seeing as there are so many PC gamers here, I can understand it being included, but for all intensive purposes most people game on consoles and really couldn't care less about what's going on in PC land because we aren't going to invest in a system that costs the same as all three current platforms plus.
It's nothing personal, but we really don't care about the PC format because it's too much of a hassle so it doesn't even enter our equations. Then a PC guy pops up with his pocket protector and is all "hey I got a new processor" and we gotta lay the smack down.

Everything you said was the typical bull**** any ignorant person would spit about PC gaming, ANd has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand. Brilliant.

They actually pay the publisher to allow that viral marketing crap on the box.No one wants to hear about the PC because most of us don't want to hear someone talk about a game they can't even run properly, yet choose pictures from the strongest PCs when talking about how awesome the graphics are despite the fact they're playing it in black and white since their systems can't handle it. Actually, more "gaming PC's" have been sold since the release of the 360 than all the consoles combined. Looking at around 200 million.
It's also intents and purposes :P

[QUOTE="aaronmullan"]This is System Wars, not Console/Company Wars. Deal with it. PC counts.washd123
it doesnt matter even if it was console wars pc would still count if you talk about exclusives.
calling a game x exclusive means the same as all other systems are excluded, not all other in context.
OK Mr Webster. But you are wrong Exclusive means to exclude, so if just one thing is excluded soemthing can be considered exclusvie. Of course it has other meanings also and one does fit your definition, but to pretend that your definition is the only one is pretty arrogant. We all know what exclusive means here in SW, but don't pretend that it means the same thing to the (marketing departments of) MS, Sony, and Nintendo, because they don't care about the rules of SW.Everything you said was the typical bull**** any ignorant person would spit about PC gaming, ANd has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand. I never knocked your decision to PC game. We just don't care about your gigahertz... deal with it.

[QUOTE="toast_burner"] that makes no sense.sanim02
Okay. Your Opinion Is Moot To Me :)
It REALLY makes no sense, do you even know what an exclusive means? It's to exclude ALL. Mass Effect does NOT exclude all. It's real nice that people like you think that PC gamers don't exist when our install base is MUCH larger than yours.
If it really meant what you think (to exclude all) then an exclusive game wouldn't be on anything. Exclusive means to exclude(doesn't have to be all.) And when we start talking about marketing and all that it really gets complicated. The best example is when movies used to be called network exclusives when they finally made it to free TV. Some movie was on HBO a year ago, but then when ABC had it and CBS,NBC and FOX didn't it was a 'network exclusive" - Kind of reminds me of the way 'console exclusive' is used in the real world by the marketing deptartnments of console makers.[QUOTE="Hanass"]

1. I never said you did.
2. I never said you should care about my gigahertz.
3. I never even told you my computer specs, so where the hell did you get the idea that I was trying to show off? If anyone's arrogant, it's console gamers who talk **** about PC gamers.
4. You're still spitting bull**** on top of your previous load, which you still didn't justify, prove, or support with evidence. Keep it up though, I don't really care about some random dude on the Internet insulting me. It's pretty entertaining, actually.

I didn't start the dictionary game in this thread, but the point still stands, don't mix the real world and SW, whcih is something you do all the time.
I didn't start the dictionary game in this thread, but the point still stands, don't mix the real world and SW, whcih is something you do all the time.thew13And I've yet to find anyone who could prove their own side of the argument when they try to espouse their own interperetation of the 'real world'. The fact remains; consoles include the PC. The term console exclusive? Even if acceptable doesn't help you.
I dont think PC gamers consider themselves to be part of this console war. When you think of a console war, you think of most powerful system and graphics. Obviously PC wins. PCs are just here to slap some sense into the console guys who think theyre latest exclusive is a Crysis killer. Thats all.
CZVA
Yeah neither do I, it's not a console, it's obsolete when talking about PS3/360 stuff hence console war. L4d2 exclusive to the 360, FF14 exclusive to PS3, especially when taking about a CONSOLE WAR.

That's great speculation that you are using there, just because a PC is capible of playing games at a high end doesn't mean that person is using it for that.
If there is topic ps3 vs X360,when it comes to games if cows start to lose their ground they bring a little help called pc as argument :D...and if it goes the other way around lemms bring theie little friend called pc too and say you dont have gfx king pc has it :) either way pc wins until we clear this thing:is there console gfx king and console exclusive or not,everywhere it counts except on SW its not...
I really wish I was a MOD as I would lock every thread like this and even closely related. You can look back over the past 10 years and find thread after thread with the exact same content WORD FOR WORD. This is getting rediculous honestly

That's great comprehension you have there. I simply stated more "gaming PC's" have been sold. I was simply offering a counterpoint to his "most people game on consoles" remark.
Doesn't mean everybody is using a PS3 to play games either. It makes a great standalone Blu-Ray player.

Don't include the 360 in that statement people are playing games on the 360 what else would you buy one for?
You guys can try to spin it all you want, MOST people don't buy PC specifically for games, with the exception the PS3 (in the begining of its life span) people by consoles to play games on FACT.

This is untrue in Europe.
This is untrue in North America.
This is untrue if we look at developer habits.
This is untrue if we look at global userbases.
The PC is simply more popular for gaming. That's a fact.
as a proud owner of a pc and ps3, and friend of people with 360's and wii's, i have to say that i am happy with my decision to get a pc and ps3. after i beat gears2, the only thing i was really interesting in on 360 was castle crashers....and thats coming to ps3. the only thing i hope is that the new splinter cell will somewhat run on my pc. plus, im a music major.....so i hardly get time to play video games as it is....so its not like im missing out on much not having a wii or 360, but i do have a really good blu ray and game console and an acceptable laptop. but no system is worse than any other(pc could be if it was worth less than 400usd) i dont get why people get so heated about this stuff.
