Why is Capcom so terrible?

I don't feel like I really have anything fresh and original to add to this thread, but I'm going to throw my two cents in, anyway.

Capcom is awesome. I don't particularly care for the way they oversaturate the market with their core franchises (*cough*MegamanandStreetFighter*cough*), but typically when the box says "Capcom" on it anywhere, you can expect a pretty polished product inside.

Also consider that if you take, say, the top 10 games of any major console (outside of the N64), Capcom will be present on that list somewhere.

'Nuff said.

Oh yeah, and anyone who responds with "GameCube" when the question is "Retro" is a twerp.

To be fair all I need from Capcom is Street Fighter and Resident Evil, and they've delievered that, and while RE5 may not have been what I was expecting exactly, I can tell you SFIV made up for that and then some. Ive always liked capcom ever since Street Fighter 2 :) Also, some day, A new and awesome megaman game will come out. some day.

How ironic that he also lists Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles as one of the reasons to own a Wii.

Capcom has its share of the good and bad. They're not so smart with the DLC, but they do make monster hunter so its a necessary 'evil'

They've been repackaging Street Fighter 2/2Turbo for well over 13 years. Best, Xbox360/Ps3. Worst , 1st edition PC and GBA.

They've manage to mangle one of their best selling series (Resident Evil) to the point that it's just pulling out garbage, burning it to a disc and selling it for 60 dollars.

They've quite literally managed to milk a dead horse (Megaman 9) for every (DLC Hard Mode) last (DLC Challenge Mode) Drop (DLC Protoman).

It's gotten so bad that one of the things the company is now known for is their inability to produce games with canon storylines. ( Resident Evil , Devil May Cry 2)

They've abandoned most of their promising franchises. Power Stone, Gigawing, Plasma Blade, Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Megaman Legends etc ;Leaving their characters as simple cameos to other games.

I disagree, Rez5 is an absolute disgrace to the series. Ok i know the whole no run n gun is from the old games, but it fit in back then, now its just a hassle and it completely takes you out of the game, the only reason its in there is so the game isnt even easier. 2nd there is ammo absolutely everywere, there is no point in saving ammo you just go through the whole game shooting as you please. Lastly it isnt even about zombies anymore, its was like humans with a parasite and random mutant monsters, also very easy to beat. Not to mention it wasn't scary or suspense full at all. Capcom needs to drop out imo.

I agree with one of TCs comments in that they did have some promising games they seem to have let go, I never played Powerstone but from what I heard it was worthy of an update and I would like to play it, i'm also a bit curious about rival schools.

I miss the old style RE games. If they wont make more, a remake of 2 would be amazing.

It would be awesome if the Wii got a RE2 remake of the same quality as the original's remake on the GameCube. I don't know why Capcom got so lazy after Resident Evil 1 and Zero.
