I mean, have any of you actually seen the PSP2 or its library of games?

You mean like how it'll make the 3DS irrelevant?Because the iPhone and iTouch have made it almost irrelevant

I notice this too, everytime there is a PSP2 thread, all the haters and bahers come running acting as if its alrready a failure. The PSP was a success, it sold tonz, has great games, its constantly at #1 or #2 im JP in sales, whats the problem?J-WOWThe problem is that it doesn't get as much 3rd party support as it does in Japan. While I do love my PSP and it has some pretty great games, most of my great games come from 3 publishers and they are the only publishers who have been releasing great games from the past couple of months and most likely in the future. PSP2 will hopefully have more 3rd party support in US.

The iPhone or the PSP2?
I don't think they do. Not being DA is athe only thing that's wrong about the PSP apart from it having rather dated hardware by now. I generally like to seperate my gaming and phning needs although I'm keeping an eye on the PSphone since having your android phone have SCEA support is a good thing.
maybe because it hasnt even been anounced? and we all know sony will charge 500 for it
and when sony releases after 3dsit will be irrelevant again ,much like psp was when it came in 2005
so ya , sony wont push it , face it theyll make it fancy as heck and make it lack umd support , what else is new ,
psp go already ditched it what makes you think sony aint goin again
Im excited for it, if they truly wised up and put 2 analog sticks, they fixed my biggest gripe. now they just need more games more frequently and it will be a solid handheld in my opinion.
I think it is because they went back to the drawing board one too many times. I still have the first PSP, or maybe its a second generation one, but I prefer that one to the UMD-less version.
I lol'd. if you put me to choose between an iphone/ipod touch and a psp I will take the psp without a doubt... now just imagine with the psp2? iphone is horrible for gaming...terrible graphics, terrible controllers...everything is terribleBecause the iPhone and iTouch have made it almost irrelevant

I don't know what you're talking about.

Ohh. Where I live people don't talk about handhelds at all and I don't frequent other gaming websites so excuse my lack of knowledge on this subject.
I'm also confused by the assumption that Sony will ditch the large collection of PSP games they've amassed on PSN. Haters gonna hate, I guess.

Yes it sold well but when the PSP was announced everyone, the cows and even the gaming media said the PSP was going to demolish the DS in sales, it turned out the DS wiped the floor on the PSP. And so far the media has said nothing but positive things about the 3DS and with the ton of support already the 3DS is looking good and that makes the PSP2 look like it doesn't have a chance.

I just don't see a point for elaborate mobile games anymore
Why would I want to play a watered down version of a console game? I'd rather play something simple and addicting on the go

I don't think the PSP phone is PSP 2, is it?
I don't really know, but Sony took way too long for come out with the PS Phone
because its from sony, they make stuff that will help them in some way first and formost. its either gonna have a new disc format or something to stop pirates and they will cheap down gaming features. just like they did with the ps3
I like how your whole post is based on assumption. You claim $500 and you know absolutely nothing about it.maybe because it hasnt even been anounced? and we all know sony will charge 500 for it

If it is a phone I think it will bomb, if phone is optional than fine. I might pick one up if it has good games and is backwards compatible with PSP games. I am no doubt picking up a 3DS though.

to be fair, the PSP2 hasnt been anounced so devs can say anything yetGraphically the PSP still kicks butt to almost any handheld gaming system I've seen. Can you imagine Sony kitching it up yet another notch? It's mind boggling to say the least. 5 year old handheld is still capable of some very impressive graphics. If people aren't satisfied with that in a handheld, I can't possibly imagine how good the graphics would have to be. Some people are near impossible to satisfy. But it's not just in the graphics, PSP has some really good games, too. It might just be because the DS seems to have a much greater library overall, I don't know. But it would be wrong to dismiss the PSP's library as lacking. You just need to research and find its hidden gems, because they're there. PSP has lots of great games. People just need to give more of a chance to prove itself.
Well I hate my PSP, and I know two thumb sticks aren't going to make a difference for me. I couldn't give a rat's ass about playing a FPS on a handheld if that's the purpose. With the 3DS, I'm already blown away by it's library, and that's not even taking into account the 3D aspect.
So preventing piracy is a bad thing now? :?because its from sony, they make stuff that will help them in some way first and formost. its either gonna have a new disc format or something to stop pirates and they will cheap down gaming features. just like they did with the ps3

Dual analog =/= best for FPS games
Touch screen, motion, keyboard and mouse > Dual Analog.
So let me guess this straight PSP2 with no confirmed games > 3DS with 3D without the glasses and an awesome game library.PSP2 with 2 joysticks=Best for FPS shooters.

You see thats just you. Some people like bigger games on the go. Im sorry but I dont see angry birds or plants vs zombies asbig as YS: seven or GOW. I dont want my handheld be a all puzzel or tower defense type game 95% of the time.
[QUOTE="Rutzfuz"]So let me guess this straight PSP2 with no confirmed games > 3DS with 3D without the glasses and an awesome game library. The pot is calling the kettle black again, I see. The psp2 is not even released and no one knows anything about it. It is absurd how everyone assumes that it would fail.
Well I can't say much as me and my friends only bought the launch DS's, but the PSP2 shouldn't shape up to be bad at all.
Sure, the PSP had obvious flaws just like the DS, and look at how many steps forward the 3DS is taking.
Sony has a lot of potential to make the PSP2 worthwhile. The only problem I could see is that the launch prices for the
3DS and PSP2 will be much higher than we expected previously, especially if those certain PSP2 rumors are true.
