Why is everyone busting on Diablo 3?(56k)

Nobody who likes games is bashing Diablo III, only a handful of troll accounts and jealous non PC Gamers.

The game looks amazing.

yeah more or less...I kinda expected the darker grittier tone of Diablo 1 and 2. I mean this game just looks like World of warcraft on roids..I was very very excited but meh...not so much any more.

The characters and bosses were gritty, I mean how much grittier can you make outside forests? I thgouth it was pretty decent for the choice of scenery.

When I think about it now, there was nothign gritty about Diablo II's desert world really... I'm sure there will be plenty of gritty content.

How could they be on GameSpot if they didn't own a PC? Get a brain, then write. Everybody in the world has a computer, and we all can play Diablo III, because it's not Crysis-requiring, so you're the ones jelaous that you can't afford PS3 and 360 and play Halo or MGS 4. EVERYBODY can play games like Diablo, so stop owning yourself.

Hmm, I own a PS3 & 360. And there are plenty of devices that allow you to get online beyond just PC's, and not all PC's will play D3, (not just specs-wise, referring to Macs). Anything else?

ok, halo 3 is a fps on xbox it was released in 2007 (one year ago) and it is made my microsoft which is company, i think it is good game. the game is story is pretty good and the combat is nic,e i like the weapons and i love the music., i do not love the graphics as much but they are good. ok yes it is a good game halo 3.

It looks alot liek Diablo II .... only proper 3D ... I dont see how you cant see the gritty nature of the dungeon in the gameplay demo? it was more impressive than anything in Diablo II ... especially with all those ghouls crawling up the walls, the 2 bosses were more atmospheric than anything in Diablo II aswell...

Seriously, just because theres some sunlight and forests, doesnt make it any less like a Diablo game. I'm sure we go to hell, and another brothel or something :P

True, however Blizzard have hit the nail on the head, WoW? 4-5 years old graphics, yet one of the nicest games to look at, its artsyle is amazing, as is Startcraft II and DIII.

The one thing gaurenteed between this and titans quest is a great art style, and a very polished graphics set.

It doesn't look like it could've been done 10 years ago. Many, many more people will buy it than just hermits. Releasing it on console would hurt the series.

I dont know, as a hermit do you believe that it's proper for Blizzard to go back to the old throwback clickfest? Doom 3 remains testament that just because you ressurect an old series doesnt mean that it will stand the test of time if you dont refine the gameplay.

Diablo III co-op online will be closer to World of Warcraft, with support/healing/tanking roles, as apposed to pot spam, they cover this in an interview yesterday.

I'm not busting on it. :) I've only played Diablo 2 for like an hour a couple months ago but it was fun. I plan on picking up the Diablo Battlechest sometime soon to play on my Mac, then I'll hopefully be able to play Diablo III upon release.

That is, if my mac will be able to run it by then... :? Who knows, maybe I'll have a PC built for me then so I can play The Witcher and Stalker as well.

Yet Diablo is still one of the most popular series to date.. If you go to Battle.net right now you will se tens of thousands of people still play DIablo 2 daily.. Apparently Diablo 2's gameplay is anything but outdated if people such as my self playing some of the most cutting edge games out there come back every so often and play it.

Not sure why so many hermits are crying and posting these threads questioning why Diablo is getting trashed.

Many hermits hate on console games cause Crysis is da bestest, or PC version looks better, or PC version on medium settings kills that console version...or whatever. One of the most common hermit arguments is that PC graphics are better. Which is ironic since many of the best PC games are not graphics monsters.

In any case, it's some payback....big deal. Grow a set and toughen up.

One thing is refining the gameplay, the other is changing the gameplay altogether. Don't you get it? Call it "old throwback clickfest" if you want, but this is Diablo. People loved it because of it. If they wanted to create a game with a different gameplay they would have come up with a new IP. But Diablo is Diablo, and there is no sense in turning it into something else.

Its similar to the Banjo Kazooie dillemma. The newest game completely changed the gameplay, changing the game into something else. But why did they have to use Banjo and Kazooie? They could have created Gunjo and Fujooie instead, and then launch a proper Banjo Kazooie game with the original formula refined.

Imagine the makers of Tetris decided to make Tetris 2, only the gameplay was now similar to Pacman. It doesn't add up.
